Hi, when I build the fort (3rd camp upgrade) I want to build the messenger post, and when it sais "1 day remaining" it never finish.

And I want to know if the fort is the last upgrade, can I upgrade my fort in to a Castle, and then in to a City?

I apologize for not noticing your question sooner. This is one of the known bugs of the Outposts kit. I haven't had a chance to discover the cause of it. It seems that the kit was designed for an earlier version of Warband and the newer versions are not completely compatible.

How does the financial assistance system work? I got knighted by Ragnar and got Chide, after which the game asked me whether I want to recruit some assistant (a fancy word I forgot) for 15 denars a week to help me with running my finances. I agreed, but I have no idea how to contact him or do anything like give him capital so he doesn't have to take loans. I don't have a "court" per se since I don't own a castle. How do you interact with this system?

The Chamberlain is a character that the Diplomacy part of the mod adds to help manage finances. If you only have a village the Chamberlain will appear in the village, usually somewhere near the village elder. He will collect your rents from the villages, castles, and towns you own, along with the profits from any businesses. The Chamberlain reduces tax inefficiency by 10% and gives you the option to raise taxes in any fief by talking to the Chamberlain. Once you find the Chamberlain, you can interact with him like you would any other NPC in a scene. He will give you options to discuss.

Thanks. Btw. what can you tell me about Custom Troops?

Some questions: can I change the unit name? why can't I recruit customs anymore? (I recruited a few and after that recruitment in a castle stopped being available)

You can change the unit name using Morgh's tools. As for recruiting custom troops, you can only hire them from a castle that you built a barracks in. If the castle goes to another faction you won't be able to recruit any troops there. If you lose the castle and it ends up with another lord from your faction you should be able to hire both custom and regular troops there.

Let me know what you found out about your game. I am unaware of any bugs with the custom troops hiring.

Hi,

I am trying to get the character faces back to native graphics. The reason is that all the females look the same. It is a bit jarring in a Stepford wives sort of way. ;) Iam 90% the way there. The male faces render correctly. The female faces seem to want to load two meshes for the heads which gives them essentially 4 eyes and two mouths. I cannot seem to find how the newer mesh head is loading. Any ideas?

This will be tricky to change back to the native face meshes for women because of the number of changes you would have to make. The changes would also get rid of some of the new hair and beards I added. You can revert to native female faces by:

1. Replace the skins.txt file with the native skins.txt file.

2. In module.ini change load_mod_resource = materials_face_gen to load_resource = materials_face_gen

3. In module.ini change "load_mod_resource = meshes_face_gen" to ""load_resource = meshes_face_gen

Let me know if this works.

All three of those things were done to get me to my 90% solution above. Curiously, the male faces look fine.

So I did a clean install of 3.0. I then changed the location of the two resources as per your instructions and overwrote the skins.txt. The following picture seems to load the new skins over the original skins.

I figured it out. The module scans for textures in the Textures folder. In that folder, there were other textures files. Even though you were loading them from native, it was picking them up anyway. The smoother, shorter face was showing up. After removing these files from the module's texture directory, everything loaded fine! Thanks for the help!

Forgot to mention, for those interested in doing the same, remove any textures from the modules textures directory that have the word 'woman' in it.

Aha- I am glad you figured it out. I forgot to mention needing to delete the modded faces.
