What justifies the choppers not being usable?
its probably meant to make military bases seem like they have been there for a while and as such there are helo's resting on the tarmac waiting to be flown on another mission unlike your popup base which inexplicably appears in five minutes, *wonders how awesome this would be for real life military commanders*

I may be way off the mark here, but I think what they meant by “demonstration purposes” is that they are showing off the scale of the dudes next to the helicopters. Not, “the helicopters are not useable”.

This chopper IS in-game. What you see here is a 'landed' model of the chopper for DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES.
That's not actually a unit. It's just a fruity prop that looks like one.

EVEN IF these helis didnt have weapons, atleast let them be used as transports ??
IF its possible to use them as such, I guess the question then is, will these be invincible or will they respawn on the *lot* or will you just have these 3 for the game and thats it ?!
the answer to your question is balance.
it's plane overpowered to instantly get 3 usable choppers. and besides, there are plenty of lore reasons why they shouldn't be used. ever heard of repairs my friend?
besides, it would look awful ingame. the rotors have apperently been remodeled to apear non-moving. if this chopper would be coded to fly, it would seem to hover for no reason, with very, very, very slow propellors that cannot support it.

It think your getting alittle mixed up here as far i know there is a chopper in game. That thing in the pic is just a prop version to make the map look better.

Proper Infantry scaling was definitely worth it.
Trying to explain myself... I know the purpose of these is as decoration in the base. But as props, they won't be usable, since if they are the ARVN just got a huge advantage. I'm saying that having helicopters that look fine but can't be used standing around in the base might feel weird.

I got the shadow fix from R3ven, who got it from ChronoSheep.
Ask him about the details.
It really doesn't do anything I've found. You can adjust the shadowmaps through WorldBuilder to be map specific(SighNapse and I do it for Synergy) and it works perfectly. That's why the shadows on screenshots like this( Moddb.com ) are so perfect. You'd have to PM him about the details though.
Small thing: what will happen if a nomral usable chopper would land next to one of these props? will they look like something just got smaller?

I love how the infantry look as if they are floating off the ground. Though the Helicopter prop looks metallic except for certain parts.
