An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.

I suggest Casual 17. So that we can always find people playing Paradox online and know where to find them.

Jul 5 2010 Anchor

Yeah, that's the named unofficial one, but people have a tendency to stop at Custom Maps 1.

Guys, I suggest you join the Steam paradox group, then whenever you are online in steam, you can chat in REAL TIME! And you even gets a notice... it's almost impossible on the forum.

I don't have Ra3 on Steam. Besides,an XFire network would do the very same thing.

@DarkyPwnz--You don't have to have RA3 on Steam to use the steam community with the game. Just log into your Steam account, add the game to your library, and join the Paradox group!

I don't even launch it from steam, but I most of the time have steam running so that doesn't matter

Seriously? Have you ever played CS 1.6?
anyway, google steam, download it, and you got the best internet based game distributor

To anyone having troubles: you can add RA3 as a non-steam game on steam.

0. Get steam, and a steam account (tis free, but buying stuff is not)
1. Go to library and choose "add game", then "add non-steam game"
2. browse to either the RA3.exe or to the shortcut on your desktop and choose them.
3. RA3 will appear in the left bar, right click and go to properties, and add the -ui to the end of the target you would to get the control panel up normally.
4. open from within steam, and start up paradox.
5. In-game, press Shift+Tab to open up the steam console and chat with ppl, and see who from the group is online, and organise matches, while still ingame.

it's good because it's so much faster than tabbing to a browser.

I'm too lazy for steam. I don't mind lamespy too much.

you will appreciate steam when you get it, and actually it's so much more intuitive (and less effort) than failspy. It also doesn't slow your computer down.

Jul 6 2010 Anchor

Wait, Steam is free? I thought it was a subscription thing. This changes everything!

Jul 6 2010 Anchor

itll be beter on casual 17 im not bothered for steam

yes, it's free, and features live chat like msn.. butyou doesn't have to add a bunch of paradox player to your msn, just have to join the paradox group on steam

Jul 6 2010 Anchor

Steam's greatest advantage is you can tell who is on at any moment. You join the group, take a peek and say "hey, want a game? casual 17, 5 mins" and you know someone will be there.

that's up to 24 hours less lurking per day! for free!

and If you create an acount today (or any other day for that matter) you will get a shortcut to steam, for free!

I can't get it to work with Paradox. It just opens up the launcher, and when I open Paradox, no Tab-Shift function. Anyone know why, before I get into greater detail?

I have the same problem, but for Company of Heroes, and that's why I didn't even tried it for RA3

Jul 7 2010 Anchor

did you try opening it from within steam, or from the original desktop shortcut?

you've added RA3.exe -ui as a non-steam game within steam, right? enter steam, go to your games library and open it from there, and try running it. you should then get the shift+tab functions.

OKay.

Anyone on now?

Why won't steam even recognize my ra3 game? I have a shortcut on my desktop, but when I look for it steam only sees Uprising. Also anyone on ATM?
