Welcome to Red Alert 20XX. The aim of this mod is to pay tribute to old Command & Conquer games, while giving YR a fresh feel in a brand new cold war context.
The Chernobyl incident was always denied by the Soviet high command. Public servant in the higest sphere of the party knew the truth however : the Kremlin ordered a cover up of the event and soon after a large military research center was build close to the melted reactor. Those research had a clear goal : use the incident as an opportunnity to experiment with radiation based weaponry.
After a decade of experimentation, the Eastern Republic Communist Party was proud to announce to the Kremlin that they had made many advance in this research field : from radiactive shells to miniaturized nuclear engine, most of the Republic's aging military vehicles were modernized with radioactive technology.
The Shagohod Tank was first based on an abandonned project (object 279). It was later modernized, with added anti-air flak cannons compared to its first version. The same goes for the Fallout Cannon, which got a make over to compensate for its aging design.
Both new models were made by Crazy Bird.
After first watch i thought those are all one and the same unit, that may become a problem.
And IMO old Shagohod still looks more "nuclear menace", new is just an armoured tank.
I'm not too sure how you could confuse the two, as they are quite different :

The old Shagohod was way too '60s for the mod's design, hence why I changed it.
Also that was the basis for the old Golem tank model in ROTR
