I was wondering about the torpedo batteries on the Destroyer. The two racks torpedo tubes look pretty good, but should the design of the torpedo battery be more similar to the original torpedo tubes on the bow? Even two or three of the side-tubes mounted dorsally might work.
The design of the torpedo battery is made to look military, which I presumed that won't be a problem since the destroyer shape is based on something like WWI battleship. I also really like the way it looks from profile: Img89.imageshack.us
The true is, that it's a never before seen shape in the Hiigaran navy. But I still believe it's fitting and I was about to create more launchers like this, which would make them a little more common.

No, you're right. I looked at more photos of it and they're well suited. I really need a working copy so I can check them out in 3D and in action before judging. Soon.

Hmmm, I thought of a way to add a visual differce between the normal kinetic turret, and the high caliber kinetic turret. I know you won't want to change the physical model any time soon (other stuff to get done and all), but maybe you could touch up the textures of the high caliber version with either some red (red replacing orange totally, or both red and orange on the turret), or by adding slashes of caution tape coloration to the turret. Just an idea for some visual differences between objects.
I haven't been around for the last few weeks because of computer troubles. Actually, they remain unresolved, but whatever.

I had a similar thought regarding visually differentiating turrets too, all I thought was a fairly thick band of red near the tips of the HE Artillery Cannon barrels. Hazard-stripe would work too.
OK, very good idea. Red on the Large caliber turrets (model change maybe someday later) and something on the HE turrets. I'm not sure about the Red, it's not stronger (in a way), but something will be there.
I saw that, looks great!, subtle but worth it.
Wait, one more thing. Normal shells and HE shells are basically nothing but different ammunition. If I could, I wouldn't solve it by changing the turret, but just by reloading. The way I've made it is that they are both fired from the same weapon, so... I'm thinking what is more important: player's situation awareness or the original concept of one weapon and two types of ammo.
update: Not some day, but ten minutes ago. Large caliber turrets models were modified (but just a little, I've only moved some vertexes). Also there's red instead of orange, but it's unnoticeable. They look like a frog. Here: Moddb.com
is there a difference between the shells? like HE does more damage to armor but has a lower armor penetration value?
Nornal are like an andvanced kinetic turret, longer range, biger damage.
HE are the anti capital flak with even longer range, but much less damage: Moddb.com
