That would be neat imo. You could even add a "Checkpoints-only" mode to spice things up. 😉 However, such a system would probably require additional time of temporary respawn invulnerability (and/or multiple dedicated save slots) to work perfectly, because the "post-save respawn-kill" is not so hard to provoke in this game, and that's a way to get stuck. 🙃
P.S. On the topic of potential new features, still anxiously waiting for the (optional?) Aim Down Sight. Would be EPIC! 🔥
Checkpoints are one of the wrong aspects of games, especially shooters. Call me oldfashioned but i am a PC only supporter and manual saving comes naturally with pc gaming, as opposed to consoles which tend to oversimplify everything and don't bother to allow the player to save when he really wants. I don't see a reason for the addition of checkpoints in an oldschool game like RtCW. Of course i respect the opposite opinion.
always annoyed me when I forgot to save and would lose hours on a random game crash, power failure, or death
so the option to go back to a checkpoint in those situations would be nice alongside the option to save where you wish
For Coop, obviously, just like autosaves.
