Realistic Half-Life is a multiplayer modification focused on realism. It was originally released in 1999 and an enhanced final version followed in August 2001 (all releases were rather unnoticed). It is mainly the original Half-Life, although changes have been made in a number of places in order to increase realism:
- All unrealistic weapons have been taken away. Only the Glock, Python, shotgun, MP5, crossbow, rocket launcher, crowbar and explosives are left in the game.
- No weapon respawn. Weapons can be dropped and are automatically dropped when a player dies. This way only the number of weapons the level designer has placed out can exist in the level and be carried around by players. Ammo still respawns, though.
- Hit damage has been increased. You die instantly from one glock shot in the head or two in the stomach.
- Falling damage has been increased, but will only reduce your health temporarily. Falling too far will result in broken legs. TIP: You can decrease the amount of damage by crouching.
- Bullet wounds result in bleeding. A hit in your arms makes you drop your weapon. A hit in your legs makes you fall and crawl around helplessly while a blood trace reveals your position.
- No bandaging and no health kits / healing stations.
- Maximum weapon ammo decreased. Ammo that is loaded in the weapon goes with it when dropped.
- Glock, MP5 and Crossbow ammo handled as clips and magazines instead of as single bullets and arrows.
- Trip mines are now only motion sensitive. By walking slowly or crawling you can get past them without getting killed.
- When you are about to meet your destiny and get hit by a bullet or debris, you scream out your pain in many different ways. (A bit sick, but though realistic.)
Additional features:
- A Teamplay With Rounds system similar to that of Counter-Strike and Action Quake. Multiple teams are supported, either as pre-selected by the server or, if the server allows it, chosen by the players. (Teams are based on player models, which players can select in the Multiplayer/Customize menu.) Normal teamplay and deathmatch game modes are also supported.
- The rounds system is compatible with both Counter-Strike maps (only two teams are recommended, though) and normal deathmatch maps.
Unfortunately, there is only one specially built map included (actually two versions of the same map). The mod is however, as mentioned above, compatible with other maps.

wow, its a very interesting mod, if you could combine some of thsoe things with a CS style mod THEN I would praise you! But very nicely done!
Are you trying to ruin a classic? Honestly this seems worse that DZB mods.
