A lonely payphone and a mysterious call was all it took to be lured into this strange world. A place of masters and slaves, creatures with unexplained powers and downtrodden humans trying to survive. Where was I? How far was I really from home? As I descended the ladder into darkness, I wondered where I'd end up next, on this random quest...

Well, i still wont lose hope.

What happened to this? I just played the first one and I thought that the second one would be released by now but no.
What happened?
Why are you so lazy?
maybe because they have other things to do rather than this?
Playbus & I have discussed what to do with the maps that would've been RQ2, at the present moment we don't have plans to release this sequel, but the maps themselves might be used in another project.
We'll have more news shortly. Sorry is this is a disappointment, but circumstances in life change.
Oh, Kasper. That's just heartbreaking. i remember how excited i was in 2015 about you guys coming back to work on this sequel and how amazed i was at the concept of the vertical maze and at the level of detail in the screenshots you uploaded after doing a master in videogame art. I really hope some day in the future you manage to get back to this project even if it's just to polish the maps that are already finished and link them so we can have something that ressembles a full campaign. Best of luck with whatever you manage to come with and thanks for everything
Never say never!
One issue that I do have now, though, is that after three years of working with Unreal and Unity, the importing pipeline for models and the tools for creating shaders and particles in Source feel very prehistoric. That also applies to the dual lighting system (lightmapped geometry vs vertexlit models) which is difficult to tolerate after you've tried the other.
I still think that basic level geometry and entity setups in Source are much much faster than anything else. But that could be the BSP level designer in me (15 years of it no less).
yes, i understand the source engine can be a pretty underwhelming tool to work with nowadays but i still hope you manage to overcome it's obstacles since i've grown rather fond of it. i've been assembling a library of work such as yours and i intend to use them to create a guide with detailed information on all relevant half-life mods. i would be really happy to add Random Quest II to that list so here goes my prayers that you find a way to eventually release it somehow :)
Understandable. Thank you for informing your fans of you guys work.
