It's been a long time since Rabid's Crap 49, but as you'll see when you fire up this mod, it's with good reason. We are going places!
Footstep sounds have been introduced for all monsters, courtesy of Cosmetic Doom (sounds made by TheZombieKiller). Now those diabolical beasts can't walk all over the place without being heard--as it should be! They're aggressive as hell.
Slon 1936 made something called Doom Update which, like Brutal Doom, makes--you guessed it--updates to Doom and Doom II maps. This and the Brutal Doom updates work here in conjunction to add lots of detail and make things even crazier.
You can now aim down the sights of the MP40 just like with the Shotgun. In both cases, all you have to do is set up an altfire key and go to town. The sprite for the MP40 has been updates with frames from Brutal Wolfenstein by ZioMcCall. It looks a bit better now.
Fog is back, and should play nice with DarkDoomZ, which is also now in the picture. DarkDoomZ is an adjustable mod that makes maps darker, and it was created by Caligari87. It also gives you, for the first time ever in Rabid's Crap, a flashlight! Set a flashlight key and enjoy where needed.
I've added a modified version of Relighting by HeyDoomer. You can change the options to see what you prefer, but it's primarily just reflective floors that are turned on by default.
Load this up in either Doom or Doom II, or with your favorite wads and you'll see what the Doom engine is truly capable of! And rest assured, there is still much, much more Crap to come.
