A lot has changed during the development days of this version, and studios switched place for this version.
But the time has come, the release of V2.0 is taking place today.
Project Zombie Strike 2014 V2.0 ReLive
A lot has changed, placing a changelog in this section will basically take you about 30 minutes to read the full list of changes completely. With this release, I'm just going to cover the most important changes, new additions and other content previously seen in the images and news section. Thanks to efforts from both Zombie Strike, and Instant Flashback, I managed to make the most stable and ideal build from all the development history. Of course there might be some minor issues such as lighting or other smalll problems, these will have the fixes in the upcoming sections.
So without any comments, let's cover the changes:
With the voting sessions in the past, I realized that Survival is going to be a boring concept if always played. However, an idea struck me, which should change the way people play in all of the maps. With this release, Extended Operations are introduced, basically adding new gamemodes to maps for everyone to enjoy. Even Betrayal Complex maps were changed to fit Siege and Insurgency type of gameplay. Of course Legacy Times wasn't touched to fit the original storyline. But to compensate that, I have introduced some new content for the Expansion Packs, and changes some styles of the game.
Since the soldiers and zombies weren't treated for a good time, me and some texture artists have decided to introduce some changes to them. Zombies now look more realistic, having applied some HD Textures and replaced some models. Human Faction now enjoy's the addition of 10 Unique classes, Including the Expansion Packs. Betrayal Complex forces originally were planned to have a more brutal and unique style compared to original teams. Sadly at the time it wasn't possible due to some issues with rendering. Now I have replaced the vanilla game's soldiers with completely different persons. I hope you will enjoy seeing different people around, not the same person.
Since the release, the mod has been affected by this issue of unproperly loading the maps. This issue has struck a lot of maps in quality, especially the Expansion Packs and Base modification. One example was Fault Line, with missing buildings and other weird problems such as lighting rendering. With the complete reworks of the maps, the gameplay changed completely. Faded Line now has the proper setting, the buildings are back, High Tension and China Rising have their lighting issues respectively fixed. Thanks to these changes, the game feels more natural than before. Thank you for waiting these changes, even if they took quite a while to research and get fixed.
Since the 1st and 2nd Expansion Packs featured only 3 maps, I saw a potential of update for these. Since Betrayal Complex featured 4 maps on the release, I thought about bringing the number even for the other releases. With that said, I have introduced 2 new maps with this release: Highway's End and Faded Hotel. These 2 are going to be the final maps coming for these Content Packs. With the upcoming versions, I'm going to improve and fix the content within these maps.
There are a lot of small changes that are not mentioned here, because of time restrains. But you can check them out in the release folder. It's just way too many to count, but issues such as random crashes have been treated properly. The AI has been remade, Balance Breaker had suffered a lot of changes in the original root code to fix with almost every map of the mod.
Thats basically it from what can I say in this Version's patch notes, too many changes to mention here.
