This is the official mod page for Project Brutality.
Another "Doom Metal Soundtrack" variant that covers all music for DOOM, SIGIL, DOOM II, TNT: Evilution and The Plutonia Experiment for WadSmoosh users.
Doom Metal Soundtrack - Smoosh Edition
======================================
*YOUR STATEMENT ABOUT THE NEXT GREATEST AWESOME HARDCORE METAL THING HERE*
First and foremost, I'd like to offer a huge thanks to all of the artists featured in this pack, Sraigius95 and DigitalPhantom for their continuations of the Doom Metal Soundtrack volumes from which this pack is largely derived, and the DOOM community at large.
This is a full set of music for a fully-loaded "smooshed" WAD containing DOOM, SIGIL, DOOM II, TNT: Evilution and The Plutonia Experiment.
WadSmoosh: Jp.itch.io
It is OK if you did not smoosh of the WADs that are possible, the music for the missing levels will simply remain unused.
YOU MUST BE PLAYING WITH A WADSMOOSH-based WAD/ipk3 FOR THE SONGS TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY. OTHERWISE, ONLY THE MUSIC FOR DOOM/DOOM II WILL WORK.
The music itself consists of covers by prominent, and some lesser known, community members that are primarily Metal and Hard Rock in terms of style. The selections are heavily derived from "Doom Metal Soundtrack Vol 6." and "Doom Metal Soundtrack Vol 7." packs by Sraigius95 and DigitalPhantom respectively. I opted for variety as much as possible, so songs that are reused throughout the game feature different covers where possible (see Credits.pdf).

The following is a spreadsheet that shows all credits and which songs were used for which file/map. Feel free to copy it if you wish to create a derived work:
All music was acquired in the highest quality I could find (generally lossless) with all tweaks/edits performed in a lossless format. All songs were normalized using the ReplayGain algorithm and then eventually converted to -q8 (~256KBPS) OGG Vorbis for distribution. A number of the songs feature loop tags but most do not (see Credits.pdf). The songs that do feature the tags have them because they were trivial to create for those particular songs, desperately needed them, or were already provided by the composer. Most of the songs that are missing loop tags happen to loop fairly well without them, though adding more "perfect" loops is the primary reason for a theoretical revision to this pack.
NOTE:
-----
When it comes to TNT/Plutonia I ended up taking some creative liberties. First, given one of my main goals with this pack was to have a much variety as possible, I replaced the few songs that TNT: Evilution reuses from DOOM II with a few non-DOOM metal songs. Furthermore, since Plutonia never had an official soundtrack and as far as I know there only exists a single set of covers for the fan made Plutonia MIDI pack, you are given a choice when it comes to how you want to handle that episode:
By default, all music for the episode has been replaced with songs that I originally found via DraugraK's Project Brutality build. Then, there is a second pk3 provided that overrides these songs with the entirety of Xeotroid's Plutonia MIDI Pack covers that you can use in their place if you wish for a more authentic experience. While not original to DOOM in any way, I feel that the default songs fit the Heavy Metal and over the top nature of Brutal Doom/Project Brutality much better than the Xeotroid's more faithful and "Enhanced MIDI"-like covers, though that is not to understate the quality of his work.
Installation/Use:
-----------------
Place the main .pk3 anywhere you want and load it with a ZDoom compatible engine like you would any other .pk3 mod. If you also want to use the Xeotroid Plutonia MIDI covers make sure you load the second .pk3 file AFTER the main one.
DISCLAIMER
----------
I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE WORKS THAT ARE PART OF THIS PACKAGE. PLEASE SUPPORT THE ORIGINAL COMPOSERS OF THESE PIECES WHEN POSSIBLE.
See Credits.pdf for all attributions.
IF ANY ARTISTS WISH TO HAVE THEIR WORKS REMOVED FROM THIS PACK DO NOT HESITATE TO MESSAGE ME.
