Years ago i asked dezodor from Team Dez0vawe for permission to give Priboi Story an overhaul. That was in 2010, the 27th of November to be precise.


It started with enabling the tasks that were disabled from the Vanilla game.
It escalated up until version 3.2.5 was released in September of 2012 (if I remember correctly).

Taking a break from modding, I made some attempts to get into making the final version the next couple of years, until I took quite a long break.
In 2015, I made a few more attempts to start up again, but other things came in the way. :)

Fast forward to 2019, when I got my second wind for modding, and started finalizing this version, which I decided to name Priboi Story Overhaul 2020.

This will be the final version name/number. :)

Updates/patches will be distinguished with date of release.

As of writing this, the latest version released is: 08112020 (8th of November 2020)

I.e.: Priboi Story Overhaul 2020 (With patch 08112020 applied).

The full mod will be updated, and uploaded when, or if, a new patch is released. Both Full version and patch will be uploaded, so new players only need to download the full version, others can download the patch.

All patches released are cumulative, meaning that all previous fixes are included in the patch, along with the new fixes/changes.

Special thanks go to NatVac, for his immense help in getting this done, and helping me out of the tight spots, and for letting med use some of his stuff from ZRP.
Also I wish to thank kdragon for his feedback, and testing of the new version.


This overhaul is based on Priboi Story with the latest patch (version 1.1.3).

Note: SOC needs to be patched to version 1.0005. (1.0006 GOG version has been tested, and works).

About Priboi Story:


Approximately one year has passed since the Marked One's story. You are the military Lieutenant Priboi Slipchenko, and you were sent into the Zone... There was a secret organization, called UHSF, and they were responsible for the incident in '86. They had a base at Dead City but the mercenaries wiped them out in the late 80's. The organization fell apart, and the last living members disappeared until today. Somehow this story is connected to the Marked One's story, and you'll eventually find out how. Over 20 important classified documents were hidden in the zone and you will need to find them to complete the puzzle. You will need to be "Sherlock Holmes" and dig deeper in the zone then you have ever done before.

I finished the tasks from Cordon and went to the S.O.S. signal in garbage, got the first document and I still havenĀ“t foud a suit. What I am missing?

Same for me when I started the game last time. I didn't get any armor/Suit before I reached the Bar. :)

A little pro tip.
Go to the Bar, get the task to kill the traitor from one of the Bar patrons. Use 2 explosive barrel, or gas canisters to kill him (no negative hit to reputation).
The reward is a nice suit.

I never played Priboi Story so I don't know the game. How do I go from Cordon to Garbage? The place where I always pass in SOC is not enabled

This mod is 50% wacky russian meme mod and 50% what I've always wanted from stalker. I love the secrets all over the place but most of the time I get disappointed when I get to somewhere really weird and there's nothing there, the difficulty and economy are pretty balanced but money goes from extremely scare to a non-issue once you reach the bar and cash out. But there's so much obscure and silly **** everywhere that you'd think this was a super early meme parody of all those crappy russian SoC mods. I mean, killing Strelok, Sid dying to some weird zone lab virus and infecting you, a bunch of fullbright houses and trees pasted in that everyone can see and shoot you through, nonsense lore and x18 leading you right in the middle of the damn brain scorcher spawning you right behind an exo monolithian (im just glad SOMEONE finally made use of that little spot in x18)?? Most of these are problems with the original priboi story and can't be fixed that easily though. Now just some questions, is the group of military stalkers to the left of Pripyat by the crashed heli and invisible building the lost group you're meant to find? And where do you find the x18 lab code, the document about it only mentions some CHAES (as if im meant to know what that even stands for lol) or do I just find it on the main story path? Still, good mod and I can't imagine playing the original Priboi story after seeing how much more stupid **** was in the original that you patched out :))

Glad that you have a positive experience with the mod.
CTD's should be very scarce, I have had the odd CTD, but not something that could be reproduced consistently.
Corrupt save games are still an issue in the game, so manually saves are a requirement, or at least highly recommended.

I think you are the first that has found the "secret" level changer :)
I thought it made sense that there is a way from X18 to to the Monolith controlled area near X10, that little appendix in the Red Forest level if often overlooked.

The original story, original mod, with the added houses, trees, etc. is all from Team Dezowave, including making Strelok a part of the UHSF. I did change some of the story to match with the story from Call of Pripyat which takes place in between SOC, and Priboi Story. Giving it some continuity.
I also added names, and some bits and pieces from Roadside Picnic as an homage to the book.
What I contributed is in the ReadMe :)

I do like the story in the Priboi Story mod, that was what made it my favorite conversion/mod, rather than "just" using the same Strelok timeline/story, this was completely new, also GSC devs were more than "inspired" by Priboi Story when they made the story arc for Call of Pripyat ;)

Some issues from the original mod are beyond my abilities to fix. To my knowledge the all.spawn was somewhat broken when it was compiled, making it nearly impossible to unpack, in order to fix/change stuff.
I used XrSpawner to open the all.spawn, in order to remove some stuff that was making the mod unstable. However, it is limited what you can do with XrSpawner.

The group of lost Military stalkers, are not in Pripyat. If I remember correctly the text should hint at where they are going.

CHAES is CHernobyl Atomic Energy Station, I can't remember where you get the X18 code, but is in one of the documents/USB drives you find during the game.

Damn you responded fast :)! My first playthrough like half the year ago got softlocked because I only made two normal saves and both the quick and autosave got corrupted thanks to Sid, so I pretty much just ragequit. Luckily I was pretty much at the very start of the game when that happened so it wasn't as bad as I thought to start over. I learned my lesson this time and it has saved me more than once to regular save!
The radar shortcut seemed stupid at first but the next document quest is in Pripyat and the main path from Warehouses is a nightmare to take.
Another silly bug I forgot to mention was that when I came to the intersection I was greeted by Duty, Freedom and some Monolith on the pripyat road locked in a standoff while monolith right behind the Dutyers was blasting me to shreds, only when I shot one of the Freedomers did everyone else suddenly spring to life! I also did notice that one of the stalkers in the car park was called Redrick Schutart :).
I'm not really sure what's up with the group of military stalkers stranded in the middle of pripyat in that case, since you can't speak with any of them and they kinda just do their thing until they eventually die, strange...
Once again, great work with your overhaul, can't imagine playing the original mod after after the quality of life changes and bug fixes you've done! One last thing, did you stick that FN2000 in Streloks stash? Seems a bit overkill when you probably aren't even using AK74... Maybe switch it back to stalker suit for the people that didn't find the beril ;)))))

I check in on a regular basis to see if there are comments, or questions.

The backstory with the UHSF and Monolith, etc. it made sense that there was an "underground tunnel" or similar safe road between the to X-labs.

The intersection with the standoff is the game's AI that is bugged somehow. The game spawns them in, but does not always (mostly) trigger the AI of the NPC's until you are close. If you come down the road they behave normally.
It probably is something that could be fixed if I could de-compile the all.spawn, and re-compile it afterwards. Not sure if a script could fix it, or some other file could fix it. So most likely it will stay bugged. the A-life in STALKER is weird sometimes.

I can't remember when, or if, I put in the FN-200 in Streloks stash. It might be there in the original Priboi Story, but it has been years since I played the original version :)

To get some decent armor and equipment I take the task to kill the traitor stalker in Army Warehouse from the guy at the bar, and kill the Freedom stalkers in the Bloodsucker village from Petrenko. I also take the task from Hunter to kill the Blodsuckers at the watertower in the village.
I take out the 3 Freedom stalkers in the village, and then the bloodsucker, if you save some of the high quality ammo I use the Mosin to headshot Freesom, and the Bloodsucker, you can make a one shot kill if you aim well. I then collect the explosive barrel from the water tower, and the one in the house in the opposite side of the village. You can kill the bloodsuckers up and close with the sawnoff shotgun if you let them get close to you.
I then blow up the traitor stalker with the barrels (you might have to take two trips to get both explosive barrels). You will get the Tourist Suit, some 5.56 AP ammo, and a high end artifact for those 3 tasks.

You can do the explosive barrel trick, and take the task to kill Dean "The Fiend" Sharpe instead, blow him up to get a Vintorez.

If you are good with the Mosin, or you have the Vintorez, you can do a long range kill, by taking the task from Col. Petrenko to kill the traitor from Duty, (the Duty who is guarding the entrance to Freedom base).
If you climb up on the truck down the road that goes up to Freedom base you can headshot him from there. This will get you a Duty SEVA suit.

Yeah, I was pretty much set for life after I did all the tasks in Warehouses, since you can't take both the Merc and Freedom villagers task from Voronin at the same time I took the merc camp one (you can take the merc camp task from both Petrenko and Voronin at the same time to get both the rewards for doing it only once, not sure if that's a feature or bug :)) and held off on wiping out the village Freedomers for my second "business trip" to the warehouses. It's probably getting tiring answering all my questions by now but how come you can't sell 90% of the new weapons (or the makarovs and bandit jacket for some reason) to most of the traders? Is it just some unfixable bug from the original mod or was it so players can't get rich quick before they reach the Bar and start doing quests for people?

Restricting what you can sell, and at what price, is an easy fix to restrict, and control the economy, in order to make it a bit harder. Its just a matter of editing what the traders, and NPC's buy and sell, and the price for the items.
It's a fine line between getting rich easy, and make it boring, because you can just buy whatever you want, and making it hopeless for the player to get any equipment at all.

I deliberately left in the Merc camp task for both Voronin, and Petrenko as a little help for the player to get some stuff for free;)
