Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

Description

With all the advances the Vaygr have made, it's about time the Hiigarans be updated too. First off some of the smallest ships in the game, Hiigaran drones.

Drones are special because they can be built by many large combat ships, including battlecruisers and the (still to be made) cruiser. Generally drones are fairly cheap and very slow, designed only for defensive operations. Often a commander will scuttle or retire any drones left over after a battle, preferring to build new ones at the next engagement.

On the top the Defender Drone, armed with two micro pulsar cannons, it's designed to protect capital ships from raging fighter and corvette swarms. The drone is virtually unarmored and can be simply destroyed however, requiring them to be used in swarms.

On the bottom the Shield Drone. This is a little more sophisticated, comes with a internal repair system and an advanced defense field generator. Shield Drones are best employed in repairing damaged capital ships during battle, their defense field protecting the drone and the ship it is repairing at the same time.
