Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
Developed by Kiith S'jet - specialists in upgrading and improving existing Hiigaran technology - Beam Capacitors come in versions designed to work on Ion as well as Pulsar weapons.
By retaining some of the weapon's charge after firing and tuning the Beam weapon's Power Sources, Kiith S'jet engineers have managed to build a Ion-Based weapon system that fires noticably faster than the original Hiigaran design while dealing an equal ammount of damage to anything the beam intercets with.
The eggheads of Kiith S'jet should not be considered formidable warriors on their own however they will share their advanced technology to any Hiigaran Kiith willing to prove it in battle. To this date no Kiith has ever complained about either the quality or quantity of Kiith S'jet's products - simply their pricing which can sometimes be unrealistically high.
Still, many Hiigaran Fleet Commanders feel the price is worth the reward and will welcome Kiit S'jet technology into their fleet whenever it is offered.

AWESOME! but seriously,pink?! you can imagine the vaygrs saying "oh no they have pink lasers! RUN OR YOUR LIVES!!"? i think that an more impactful color like red or white are more threatening and awesome than pink.
Red does harken back to the Kushan beams of HW1 :P

hummm you have an point but this is clearly pink,this ends with the hiigaran empire masculinity... why don't they create an beam made of *utopic* superconductors that will kick the enemy but so beautifully that they will never forget who have destroyed the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. it's awesome name for an weapon: "superconductor beam"

But I'm not the the color of an ion cannon has anything to do with the light spectrum? In that case the Taidian would have had stronger ion cannons and would have destroyed the Kushan? And how come the Kadeshi and bentusi use yellow? Surely they would have the strongest ion beams?
The s'jet purple ion beams are just a blend of red/orange (keeper - strongest) and standard (blue - hiig, kadeshi etc). There was no larger thinking to this. And it's purple! Not pink xD

Now, if we were talking about pink armor plating, then that would have to be automatically a OMG badass technology. Wouldn't the keepers be so much more scary if they were bright pink? :D

Red has high wavelength pink has low, so if the beam was more intense it wouldn't shine pink, it would probably just go white

In the color spectrum, red has a low wavelength and violet has a high wavelength. LordGrantus got high/low mixed up and violet and pink mixed up.
But anyway, the intensity of an ion cannon doesn't necessarily correlate with the color spectrum.

to begin,ion cannons theoretically don't are even a weapon just to begin(and they don't have anything to do with the color spectrum),the color spectrum well... it can be applied if it was an laser or one kind of beam made of sub atomic particles such as fotons and eletrons, the superconductor beam is absolutely utopic one time that it destroys the uncertainty principle(delta x . delta y bigger or igual to the reduced plank constant divided by 2 pi). but an weapon that i wold fear is:
*gamma radiation laser
*fusion missiles
*hyperspace bombardment(this wold screw space and time)
*photon torpedos
that are weapons that make sense in physics. but we are in a awesome sci-fi RTS game so everything that have an awesome name and looks coll fits in. (actually we have fire in space,sound in space,among other things)
