Operation Remembrance is a massive expansion and realism mod for EA's Battlefield: Vietnam. Operation Remembrance has been created by Denal Douglas, a private mod-maker, and has been in the works for almost nine years. It adds dozens of maps, small arms, weapons emplacements, aircraft, land vehicles, and naval vessels, as well as significant improvements to the AI, making singleplayer more fun and more challenging.

Description

Operation V1.1 has been released, bringing with it new vehicles, new maps, new weapons, and a new armor system!

Is the base mod needed or does it only work with this one?

In map "Welcome to the jungle", Viet Cong gunners (LMG) does not appear any LMG, I pressed and it was pungi stick. I hope you can fix that mistake

Yeah, I already know about that. The kit is trying to use a weapon that I took out of the mod.

When I load into a map, the objects are weird and spiky and have a glitched geometry and texture. Any Idea why this might be?

I've had a few other people complain about the same issue, and I've encountered it myself with other mods. I've never been able to figure out exactly what causes it, but it has something to do with a file or something getting corrupted during the installation process. Start by deleting the mod and reinstalling it, and if that doesn't work, uninstall the entire game and then reinstall it and the mod, and that should fix it.

Thank you, will do. Also great mod regardless. I love the Skyraiders on Ia Drang.

EDIT: Had to reinstall the game, but thankfully things are back to normal.

Do I need any other mods or patches for this to work? I have the game I'm just not sure how to install it. Any pointers?

You only need V1.0 and V1.1 of Operation Remembrance. No other mods. And when you say you have the game but aren't sure how to install it, do you mean Battlefield Vietnam itself, or the mod?

Any way to get the original game sounds. The explosions are different and the ear-ringing(when low health) is overpowered and piercing. Love the mod overall.

Have you actually downloaded this version, V1.1? The ringing ear sound effect was removed in the previous patch, V1.02. This one, V1.1, also completely overhauls the explosion sound effects to a new system that bases the sound on the size of the explosion effect and the surface the explosion happens on. There are only about six explosion sound effects in the base game, while the current version, V1.1, has roughly forty-eight.

I'm happy to be able to say I know exactly what the cause of that crash is, and it's already been addressed for the next update. Thank you.
