Operation: Black Mesa is a total Source remake of Half Life: Opposing Force. Using the Source engine, the developers plan to recreate the Black Mesa research Facility as it was seen by Corporal Adrian Shephard of the H.E.C.U. Half-life: Opposing Force is still an amazing game, although it is not nearly as amazing as it was when it was released.

Will the Grunt Ai be applied to allied HECU too? They were quite brainless in Opposing Force for supposedly special ops marines.

Wow, this is very impressive. it looks as if they are truly logically using their environment. Truly better than most of the AIs nowadays, where most just sit in one place and only peak once in a while.
Looks really great! :D

You know a mod is good when even the cockroaches have advanced AI.

Just so you know, the cockroaches in HL1 acted in the same way: scattering in the light, clustering around dead bodies / gibs and fleeing from larger entities.

You're right though. It's nice to see a mod team putting in the same level of detail. :)

Will taking out the squad leader have any effects on the other enemies' behavior?

I love the new AI, but I have a concern, I keep seeing updates for OBM in the Guard duty category. Is there still work being done on that two or will these new things be integrated?

We work on both modes at the same time. While the Guard Duty is somehow silent, we still progress with it. Both are separate mods though.

I like what I'm seeing so far, though there were way to many roaches in that simulation. You never see that many out in the open in real life. Granted, at night down here in Georgia US, we do have a lot of tree roaches out and about in the evening, but you hardly ever see them during the day. Even at night, though, they mainly stick to edges and close to objects, rarely making dashes across open spaces unless absolutely needed. Even then, if they sense an approaching human or animal, some stop dead in their tracks, thinking they won't be seen (yeah right), while others quickly dash for wall cracks or under/behind an object. Nonetheless, I've never seen more than two or three in an area and they are widely spaced. The only time you'll find a large concentration of roaches like you had in the simulation would be in a really dirty location with lots of rancid food stuffs or in a sewer tunnel/tube.
