Operation: Black Mesa is a total Source remake of Half Life: Opposing Force. Using the Source engine, the developers plan to recreate the Black Mesa research Facility as it was seen by Corporal Adrian Shephard of the H.E.C.U. Half-life: Opposing Force is still an amazing game, although it is not nearly as amazing as it was when it was released.
Foxtrot Uniform by Chris Onorati.
Brilliant work.
Except 1 tiny detail.
Add lanterns on the road side. The devs of original Hl loved to forget about that. No need to repeat their mistake.
I do see some lamps near the building with the truck that's good.
Eventually add little vegetation into the sand. But no cactus - rather some minor weed. tiny plants etc.
We probably won't add street lights to this particular area, mostly because we want to avoid it looking too much like a city street. Plus there's tons of lights already on the walls, and it's a pretty small road anyways.
We will definitely add more foliage once we get some made. Currently we are very limited in that regard.
I understand.. Sometimes mappers do come up with the best ideas but then it usually results in you the mapper deciding whether you can spare the additional texture, model cache space or justify potential FPS drainage for a possibly insignificant feature.
That or simply the fact that there isn't enough room available without reconstructing the whole area from scratch.. :P
A mappers life ain't easy am I right? :)
So ya no street lights then. Perhaps 1 or 2 that fell to their sides due to a jeep or truck driving it over? Could work maybe. But again non essential in any way.
Looking forward to the next screenshots. Keep em coming. :)

Only a much effort through all these years, could bring us such results.
Also eine Ähnlichkeit zum Original sehe ich nicht!
