Alpha v0.0.1 file - OpenXRay Gunslinger mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Installation:

Step 1: Install Call Of Pripyat

- Install completely unmodded Call of Pripyat, e.g. a fresh install from Steam, GOG, etc.

Step 2: Install original Gunslinger Mod

- Install Gunslinger Mod from it's installer. You can get the latest version here.

- After the installation is complete, there is a checkbox that says "Run Addons Installer". Keep it checked, and continue.

- Install "New Hands Pack" and "Unofficial Food Addon". These are required! The rest of the addons are optional. You do not need to install CGIM, since we've included an updated version.

- After the install finishes, verify it's installed correctly by running the game and starting a new save.

- If you previously had Gunslinger Mod installed, or you just downloaded it from the official modDB page, IT COULD BE OUTDATED. Please run CheckUpdates.exe after you install, if you have this outdated version.

Step 3: Install OXR Gunslinger

- Grab the alpha here

- Install the contents of "OXR Gunslinger v0_0_1.rar" to the original Gunslinger Mod directory (NOT your unmodded Call of Pripyat directory!)

- Make sure to grab the latest hotfix here and install it by copying it to the Gunslinger Mod directory. Overwrite when asked.

- Launch the game from the original executable, "Play GUNSLINGER Mod.exe"

- When prompted to update, do NOT update. Skip the dialog and the game will start.

- After starting the game, navigate to the video settings and enable

- Start a NEW game - old save files will not be compatible.

- If your screen is blank/white when you load in while using Enhanced Shaders, try running `_colorgrading_preset ui_mm_color_grading_default` in the console (hit ~ to access it by default)

DO NOT install it in your default, unmodded Call Of Pripyat directory, or it won't work!!! This directory should not be touched at any time during the installation.

DO NOT install executables from anywhere other than our official ModDB/NexusMods pages. We can't guarantee the safety of anything outside of the official channels.

Do NOT report bugs to original Gunslinger Mod team, or to OpenXRay mod (unless it's also a bug with OpenXRay).

For now, the only supported renderer is R4 (DX11) with Enhanced Shaders enabled - you can try the other versions, but bug reports for other renderers will not be prioritized until later. After enabling enhanced shaders, please make sure to restart the game to apply your settings.

Please do not expect an extremely polished, feature complete version.

Please do expect to see a few bugs.

Q: What is this?
A: It's the initial alpha for OXR Gunslinger - a complete reimplementation of Gunslinger Mod, built on OpenXRay engine.

Q: Is this the final quality of the mod?
A: Absolutely not, this is a VERY rough alpha- bugs and gameplay issues are to expected while we clean things up.

Q: Does this mod support AtmosFear yet?
A: Not yet, that is still in test builds for now while we stabilize it / fix issues

Q: Is this mod compatible with Anomaly mods?
A: Probably not, it's on a case-by-case basis. Most mods, if they require scripts to run, will have to be adapted by hand.

Q: Is the source code available yet?
A: Not yet, I'll have the repo made public after I clean up some embarrassing code from when I was still learning c++

Q: What differentiates this from Gunslinger Mod?
A: OXR Gunslinger is meant to be seen as a new modding platform for S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it's much more accessible to jump in and create something compared to the original Gunslinger Mod. Once we are finished with implementing Gunslinger Mod's functionality, we will work on new features to enhance the gameplay experience.
