NovaCor: The Fringe is an exciting Sci-Fi adventure with a blend of FPS combat and Puzzle Solving. Collect items, solve puzzles and blast your way to the center of the mystery surrounding NovaCor.
Another angle of Red Block. This level will consist of battlng and puzzling your way through 4 color-coded blocks, one being a solitary confinement block.
This is very good, the only thing I can suggest is to make another rubish decal so that there isn't too much paper, just for some variety. It doesn't have to be a model, maybe just a retexture of the current decal.
There isnt enough IMO to justify these papers. I guess that is a table of bench seating or something.. I would expect to see papers like this if there is a file cabinet(s) around that have been turned over, drawers open w/ papers hanging out or somethin ..
Most of the stuff in this mod tho has not really justified papers, most things have been digital, just computer based.
Yes, I will be adding a lot of different decals of papers and debris for the prision maps. I will also have some models of books strewn about. As for justifying this much paper in this level as opposed to the Labs, the prisioners dont get electronics to use - its all old school for them since weapons and other devices potentially used for escape could be made of them. The inner areas for the guards will have book carts and stacks of papers, to illustrate to the player where it all came from. In addition to that, some of the cells will have papers and books in them.
Ok sounds good then, which actually brought me to a question but I see you mention books, is there by any chance a library area planned ?
I wouldnt say it needs to be really big, I mean w/ a check in/out desk, some tables n chairs and ofcourse various book/magazine shelves .. :)
A library would be a great idea for the commons, where the Novacor employees relax, shop and entertain themselves. I may just add one mixed in with the rest of the shops and stuff...it would be an antique style deal since everything is so techologically advanced...Residents of the station would be able to view anything they wanted to right from the terminals in their quarters.
O, well in this context I was thinking a library atleast for prisoners since we were talking about the prison area.. I mean prisons have libraries too as part of the rehab process, well even courses to improve education etc .. but ofcourse prisoners wouldnt have access to areas w/ employee/residents.
I would guess there are ceiling turrets in certain areas of the prison to prevent any possibility of prisoners escaping.
Say there is gonna be a cafeteria/kitchen for prisoners yes ?
Yes, they are completely isolated from civilians. The security is a mixture of heavy doors, lasers and force fields. Each block also has its own cafeteria and excercise rooms, and a library wouldnt be a bad addition either. Typically smaller jails just deliver the books on a cart and the inmates pick what they want to read, but large prisons do have their own libraries. These holding areas are somewhere in between full-blown prison and just a 'county jail'. I will have to see if I can work a library in for each cell block...
