NiV-Deer is a mod designed to emulate a corrupted version of doom but with added assets to challenge the player. Fight the dying AI of classic and new monsters. Explore broken versions of levels that you grew so fond of. Grab your self some new weapons. In the end of it all your nostalgia will be your greatest enemy.

New Maps

News

I will be importing map E4M1 and others to NiV-Deer to replace the default maps that I don't like playing through. Map 12 is a good example of a map that might be replaced. I just feel like some Doom 2 maps drag on and the level design was better in Doom 1.

NiV-Deer is a attempt to emulate a corrupted version of doom but run it stately and fairly.

The more I play this the more I appreciate what it's set out to do. it's a "corrupted" Doom wad. it's like a meta-narrative kind of thing.
ever play Pac-man.exe? essentially it's an "old arcade board of pacman" that has had it's code corrupted over the years and haunted and since then the rom files have been compiled into a playable .EXE one of the few .exe games that are actually good!
Anyway, this reminds me of that. it's like the game itself decided to create a new challenge for you where it's JUST solid enough to be played without crashing. that aesthetic is really interesting to me and I think it could definitely be built upon.

"WHEN_FAL.OGG" sounds like a "Гражданская Оборона - Всё Идёт По Плану"...
