Monster Hunt is a team based modification for Unreal Tournament comprising of two new game types, Monster Hunt and Monster Arena.
In Monster Hunt, you and your team of hunters (humans or bots) must work your way through the level while killing everything that stands in your way. Monsters you'll face range from the tiny but deadly Pupae, to slimy Sliths that spew blobs of slime at you, to the huge stone-throwing Titans.
Monster Hunt is the perfect blend of multiplayer and single single player, single player in the sense that the levels and style of Monster Hunt are very much like that of a single player game, but the team based gameplay gives it a great multiplayer feel.
Players must work as a team to survive, players on their own will be overpowered by the monsters and sent back to the beginning of the level. Players shouldn't grab all the health and ammo as they come to it, it should be shared out amongst the players who need it most, or you could let one player grab lots of health and pick-ups and he can then charge the monsters to weaken them, the other players following. All this also adds a bit of strategy to the gameplay.
Monster Arena is very differant from Monster Hunt, in Monster Arena, you and your team aren't batteling your way through the level to get to the boss at the end, rather you are faced with one extremely powerful monster that must be killed.

After a long time away, Monster Hunt for UT99 has begun receiving official updates again.
The latest version, 605, is available in the Files page.
In addition to many server and stability improvements and optimisations, the new versions also introduce a new game type called Monster Defence. This is played on regular CTF maps, where you and your team must defend one of the bases while an endless assault of monsters tries to attack and escape via a portal that replaces the flag.
More updates with features and fixes will be added in the future as well.

help! im having a problem with both monster hunt and the single player mod, i cant open transmissions that you get from the tablet looking things on the ground! it says to press f2 but F2 does nothing, can annyone help?
Very fun gametype, This should have come with the game already. It's pretty much mandatory for me to have this mod. Just wish there was more maps that work with the AI.

I like the the MH very much but
though earlier everything was super
the monsters now got bugged!
No one inflicts mellee damage
anymore though the anims being played.
And the worst thing is that nothing
helps - wether clean install - system
defrag nor even drive format!
I even tried mhv500 but its nearly
the same - even the cf spawned monsters!
I heard about this problem from several
other players and that it got fixed
with mutators. But i tried all stuff
i could get and - nothing.
I remember that while playing with ued
sometimes the system reacts changing but
in this case i wasnt able to return it.
I wish epic would finally make the official
monsterhunt coop addon which we all want.

which is a public mirror for all things invasion. It was started to host UT2004 files but I am creating a UT99 section. I'd appreciate any old files, links, or mods you have to add to the public pool. Once I get the UT99 section sufficiently large enough, it will get it's own section. Help me make a permanent spot for so many of these files that are slowly being lost to dead links and 404's. I admit I am totally a 2K4 player and I had no idea Monster Hunt was still a thriving community. I'd like to help out, and any assistance is welcome!
