This mod is a merge of work from some of the best modder's on the Stalker scene. The Merge mod is made up of a selection of mini-mods and other additions put on top of Atmosfear 3, Absolute Nature 3.1 (full version), OWR 2.1(extended version), Variation mod. Artifacts mod, Unreachable stash fix, Zone grenades(reward only), Bar music, Extra outfits and helmets. There's numerous tweaks such as how your now unlikely to find any high end weaponry in stashes(randomised content still) and the Underpass can be revisited, The read me includes the credit list. I've been meaning to move this from the Rus Trans mod page for some time so here it is.

Description

This is a complete set of dll's for grass draw distances of 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 and 800. Each folder contains static, dx9, dx10 and dx11 files. There's also versions for Atmosfear 3 users. These dll's replace the ones in your bin folder, It's a good idea to make a new folder in the bin folder and then move the originals into it so you can change back if you wish. The screenshots folder shows each variant and the fps I get with it to give you an idea of the difference between the distances and the impact it has on performance. I am unsure who to credit for making the tool used to make these dll's. Preview image artwork by Pazur (I think)

xrengine.exe doesn't run with your dll's. Is a known problem? I've downloaded them because CoP was the only game of the three which I couldn't patch by myself.

I've had no problem using them with a dvd copy or the STEAM version. If your using the vanilla xrengine.exe it will run fine with them. I use them all the time, I just built another pc and added a DVD copy and a Steam copy of COP on it and they work fine on this rig aswell. You have two versions one is vanilla and one is for Atmosfear 3 but neither uses a tweaked xrengine.exe.

If you loaded a mod that changes the xrengine.exe and the dll's then yes it probally will cause a problem, what are you trying to use it with? If you used a mod that changed them in the past it may have left them behind so you'll need to do a clean install so that your running on the original game files.

That totally screwed my game up, and I am NOT using any mod which alters the bin folder...thanks.

Are you using a pirate copy of the game?

Even if you are it couldn't possibly screw up your game unless you've done something other than what your told to do in the description above (which you must of read before downloading) and the read me that comes with the download.

I am proud user of the normal disc version, bought back in 2010.

I solved the problem with reinstalling and doing the grass draw distance stuff myself.

If it works for the others, fine, you did a good, useful job then, but on my vers it doesn't work with even NO mods applied to the game, completely vanilla install.

And I installed it it via overwriting the original render files in 'bin' folder (no, I didn't read the readme, because it is obvious to me how to install and I don't know any other way to do it).

From where did you take the render files from? From the STEAM version or the orignal dvd version (maybe it's the issue here, but I don't know)?

I've got a dvd copy (1.6.02) that they were made on, I also have it on Steam which I tested them with aswell. I remarked about reading the info given in read me's and the description above because it tells you to back-up the files your overwriting so if you have an issue you can switch straight back and that way it doesn't screw up your game, That's something you should be doing anyway.

Interesting mod, but after trying it out it seems to eat a good chunk of the FPS. I'm playing the complete SGM 2.2 package with DX 11 almost max settings. Got around 40-50 FPS without the mod and 30-40 with the smallest 200m grass view. Even tried the 800 and FPS dropped to 10 >_>

Oh, well. A lovely mod though I don't think I'll be using it.

It is very demanding, I find that 3 or 400 is my sweetspot or the fps goes too low with demanding mods like SGM.

Are you installing the correct files to the bin folder? I've tested every distance with every graphic setting on both a dvd copy and steam as the screenshot folder shows and I've had no problems with either. It comes with Af3 versions as well as vanilla versions so make sure your using the correct ones. I have not tested with cracked versions though.

Make sure to keep your original files safe so you can switch back if need be.

First thanks davi.m.e for answering. Maybe I did something wrong the first time I, but later I was able to properly install the files, so problem solved. By the way, I have the 3 gb enabler for C.o.P, I must say it has helped me a lot but still have a problem with this common crash to desk problem when I try to change settings, I cannot use neither Object dynamic lightning, full dynamic lightning nor enhanced full dynamic lightning, but oddly I can set render to enhanced full dynamic lightning in dx 10, does anyone has succeeded to solved it?

Your best off just adding an empty folder and moving the originals into it before adding these, that way you can switch back. Personally I just drag drop the vanilla bin folder into 7-zip and make a compressed copy which can be used to create a fresh bin folder at any time, It can be left in the games folder so there's no need to move it anywhere.

I ran a VirusTotal scan and it came back with 2 hits, make of this what you will, but I really do think it's a false positive.

I run Norton which is the same and tries to delete these sorts of files unless I put a block on it.

Great, mod as the normal distance on the game is kind of bad. Makes the game more up-to-date graphically. Did anyone used this on CoC mod? Would be curious to see how it runs at max grass density. Must be a hell of a benchmark.

I can't get this to work with the Call of Chernoybl mod, is there any chance a version compatible with that could be made? Or give some advice on how to make it work myself?

Thank you.

Would it be possible to have a set like this for view distance?
I'm using atomosfear and I would like to decrease the view distance as its killing my performance (r1).

300 is more than enough on Vanilla distance view with edited few settings from here:
Steamcommunity.com
I suggest it to anyone.
Thanks!
