The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.
Still needs work. Getting there slowly..
well that is one beautiful m4 *_*
Please... I need the mod... I'm dying!
It's not really up to me unless you want a mod that consists entirely out of completely unbalanced weapons :P
Yea I would rather my stock wasn't made out of lead.
(buried)
Nice but I prefer the RIS version like in CoD4
What is it with people and that extremely ugly and uncomfortable RIS?
they think its tacticool
Well i got M4 with ris at home i know its airsoft gun but is almost the same and if you got the ris cover its very comfortable and why keep hand at the handguard if you got Front grip ? :)
I know right? Oh yeah let's put on this holosight that can break easily cause we can't hit **** with normal ironsights that's a lot tougher than glass. REAL. SMART.
Yeah man, Eotechs are so fragile, that's why there are thousands of them being used by the US Army and Marines...oh, wait.
Bro, M16. Vietnam. Extremely Fragile.
The US still uses "unoptomized" weapons in it's army today. FFS, they have the XM25 Airbust GL, but no bullpup-style ARs like GB, Belgium, France, Israel, China, Austria, Australia, and even Croatia(FAMAS clone). And those are just the ones that ORIGINATE from the countries that use them.
Oh, and many weapons are pretty reliable with an internal holographic sight. The G36 and FNF2000 among others.
What'd the point of RIS be? We have no foregrips, LAMs, or rail mountable flashlights in STALKER. Plus the RIS looks ugly as, anyway.
That looks ******* nice.
Background is kinda distracting but I really like the progress so far! Will you give it a suppressor / GL as well?
That's the plan!
Awesome! :D
Actually, now that I think of it, I'm not entirely sure if I'm able to give it the GL without making a RIS foregrip (which I really don't want to do) - the engine doesn't allow removing half of the foregrip to accommodate the GL :(
No GL is good as well, doesn't really matter and TBH, I like it with EO + suppressor better ;) looks more tactical
make a version with RIS, but give it **** handling.
This is gonna sound sorta stupid, buuuut... Doesn't the AR15 birdcage-type flash hider fit NATO 22mm grenades? I know it'd pretty much be adding a new ammo type just for one or two weapons, but I guess it'd work. Although I suppose animations would be a problem, too. Hmm.
Hmm. Well, you could attach it down there anyway, favoring gameplay over realism. Or halfheartedly explain it's attaching by, say, somehow strapping it on with duct tape. Or make it look like it's soldered on and not allow it to be unattached once attached. Or hand-wave it's attaching by also attaching a rail to the bottom along with the grenade launcher.
Or, expanding on that last idea, maybe you could make it so that Strelok has to bring his M4 to someone, and pay to have him permanently hack a rail onto his M4, and then the player could attach and detach the M203 at will.
Yeah, I like that idea. Something like that, where you have to have someone modify your M4 (slightly increasing weight and decreasing durability and handling in the process) to allow you to attach the M203.
Or maybe I'll just omit the M203 :P
Looking good man, nice job!
By the way, when you mount an optic, will it just mount it on the carrying handle or remove the carrying handle and mount it on the rail? It'd be neat if it could be the latter.
The engine doesn't allow you to remove pieces when you attach others :/
Aaaww dangit D: Any chance of a flattop M4A1 then?
Still needs work?!?!
HAWT
Why so much focus on the M4 anyways? Where would we find any sort of AR-15 (save maybe stolen M16A1/A2s) in Ukraine? I would personally much rather see more slavshit. But then beggars can't be choosers.
There's a goddamn LR300 in vanilla and you ask where a standard M4 could possibly come from? :P
There's also a G36, F2000, L85A1/2, SG550, and SPAS-12 in vanilla, despite not having a SKS, nugget, AK-47/AKM, Tokarev, Saiga or any of the other logical choices. I'm probably in the minority but I just thought vanilla did a terrible job for weapons in all aspects.
It's clearly implied in the game that many organisations like the mercenaries and the ONU observers brought their own arsenal into the zone, including a lot of NATO weapons. So I don't see the problem with the presence of German, Italian and English modern weapons instead of an SKS, really.
This is just kind of a random thought, but is there any way of defining the possibility of a certain attachment showing up on a type of weapon? Because I got to thinking that you could make the carrying handle/lower handguard a seperate part and give them a 100% chance of being on the weapon. Like I said, I don't know if it can be done, but it's an idea. Although I guess if it was possible it would have been done long ago...
