Oh, something to add to this: This is probably the only map where you will ever actually die in the game. :P

He means that in other maps its regular laser tag, like in real life. In this map you could get burnt, crushed, impaled, decapitated, etc.

Thanks, I still didn't totally understand the concept of the mod because I didn't remember it saying in the description that you can't die. I thought you might "die" but the game calls it "eliminated" or something.

Oh. Sorry, I didn't mean for the confusion. The mod was originally going to be totally based on realistic laser tag, but to add to the variety we branched out and added un-realistic and dangerous levels. I also said that you would not be able to be fully killed in the game, just tagged. This is the only map that has an exception.

Description

A work in progress screen shot from my new map Lz_Deatharena. I just thought I would add this so you guys were assured that we're not dead. We have just been in a very slow production progress ever since our coder had to leave. I think that having a coder is what gives the team the most motivation more then anything, because this mod is pretty code heavy. We hope to get another coder soon.

Anyways, this map will be getting a video trailer because of all the moving parts. The map is pretty small, and is really made for a maximum of 5 vs 5. The map consists of four wall-mounted flamethrowers, two crushing pillars, a hole in the floor that opens into a pit of spikes, and four moving lasers. The lasers are not complete yet.

I hope to replace the pillars with custom models, and get a better flamethrower system with custom particles. Currently the flamethrowers are a series of env_fire entities, but that is just a placeholder.
