Full walkthrough (English version):
Indiana Jones meets Amnesia. I liked it! Was expecting to see the cat (black panther) though.
I'm currently playing it like 30 min in and it's really cool so far! Feels so original! I really get a indiana jones type of vibe to it :D Made a videon on it if anyone wanna watch ^^ Youtube.com
Please translate the mod to Russian
Good custom story. to play definitely worth it.
Can anyone help me, I don't know what to do with the hammer once you go into the room that says "water works"
There's something about the old custom stories that have more of an atmosphere compared to the new ones.
I totally agree! Mods from 2 years ago for example are like standardly good...
Fair argument but whose fault is it actually, that some people did not have the opportunity to start making mods during the "golden age" of this game? I think the difference between "new" and "old" mods is only caused by the fact that there was a lot bigger public interest in this game in the past and after the game itself became old, a lot of people abandoned the community.
I agree that some of the new mods are just not the same as the older mods.
First of all to anyone who creates mods both good and bad the work that goes into making them is amazing.
Second, why are older mods so good? For one they keep to the original Amnesia atmosphere, but people make it their own. The problem with the new mods is that people are madly changing and modifying something that does not need to be fixed. Amnesia is still an amazing game and never gets old.
Thank you for sharing your opinion, I will think about it but lets think in 4 dimensions. You just cannot stop time!
I agree that many good mods were made 2012 or earlier and most of my favourites are from that era! But when you spend a lot of time with this game, you may soon start getting sick of seeing the same textures over and over again and throwing Grunts and Brutes at you is annoying as hell :)
If you wanted to say to the creators nowadays to stop being innovative, than it is the same as saying to stop making colorful TVs because black and white horrors gave you so much more atmopshpere.
Of course, give your opinion but please if someone decides to make a mod that has nothing to do with dark descent, for example about hockey, than let them do it! Because I would be deeply interested in how someone would make a mod like that :) . Some time ago Amn invented a very smart mechanism of how you can use a GUN in Amnesia and instead of commending how smart he is, most of comments were stupid people saying "THIS SUCKS, THIS GAME DOES NOT NEED GUNS!"
Come on, you dont want guns, you dont install the mod. Big deal. Just do not stand in the way of innovation and let the modders use their imagination OK?
"First of all to anyone who creates mods both good and bad the work that goes into making them is amazing."
--- :) If at least some work goes into the mod and it can be seen, the mod does not deserve to be called "bad".
Anyways, think as you want, just if some mod has really nothing to do with Amnesia dont rate it 1/10 just because that, how fair is that to people that voluntarily sacrifice their time to make something for you?
You are right the term "good or bad" mods was not the right the words to use. To rephrase my statement even if a mod is rated how or high, the work is still amazing.
After reading your reply, I realize that I didn't mean that people shouldn't explore different themes, like hockey or hotels or other themes. I think people should explore those themes and I would be interested in seeing how creative people can get. What I was trying to say is one should explore other themes, but try keep the same Amnesia feel, not necessary using the same monsters and jump scares, but expanding on those ideas that Amnesia presents, without losing the atmosphere, this only applies for Amnesia custom stories, not every mod out there.
Sorry if I offended you, I did not mean to. I appreciate your feedback. I realized that I did not do a good job of explaining what I was trying to say.
In your opinion what makes a good mod?
Do you download mods like this. I know how to drag and drop custom stories into the Amnesia file, etc. But I don't know how to install the mods where there are files you have to extract. Do you make a new folder in the Amnesia folder and then put all the contents for that mod into it.
No I am not offended at all :) I just stated what kind of comments I found around the net and what I think of comparing the mods. I was just saying, the moddb page has about 400 finished Amnesia mods uploaded and seriously, a lot of them are based on same principle, you just wake up in the castle or dungeon and you try to survive, while sometimes it is improved with some smart ideas and well thought story.
I guess I should answer your question and your advice via private message because I think we spammed this thread quite enough already.
