Amnesia 64 bit support, made with 4GB LAA patcher by Daniel Pistelli. Only a flag was unlocked to give the game more memory. Installation instructions and virus scan reports below, and inside the download.

-----
1.11 version includes the steam workshop functionality and new 1.5 update in regular exe.
-----
Virus scans:
Amnesia 64bit exe
Amnesia 64bit NoSteam exe
Features:
- Faster loading times
- Less framedrops and lag in resource-heavy levels
- No crashes for larger maps with high-res assets
-- Installation:
- Unzip the 2 exe files from 64bit_Amnesia.zip
into your Main Amnesia / redist folder
(where Amnesia.exe is)
- Your virus scanner may pick up the files, put them on the exception list, if it happens.
there is a full virustotal scan included, they're
completely safe and made from steam version Amnesia
- To play, run the 64 bit amnesia exe to play the game.
- If used for mods, run the respective full conversion mod
bat file, with a "_64bit" tag in it most likely
(at least for my own works)
-- Original description of the tool:
"This neat little tool was created by Daniel Pistelli way back in 2008, what it does is make 32 bit apps large-address aware, so they can access up to 4 GBs of ram if needed (as opposed to the original 2 GBs limit). By design, x86 applications use 2GBs of virtual memory while the two other GBs are reserved for the system, so in our modern age of x64 bit operating systems and apps we can now take advantage of this extra memory"
- Play and enjoy!
A useful addon which improves possibilities; thanks!
Addon updated with 1.5 steam update and workshop support for the normal exe (2023. 11).

Just note...this is NOT a 64bit version of the game as the file uploader claims.
Its legit just the 32bit version patched with the LAA patch to let it access the max vram possible which is typically bout 3GB.
My opinion uploader should rename this upload to what it truly is. The 32bit version prepatched with LAA
To this uploader also note...if sumthing is 64bit...it has access to all the physical vram you have installed to your hardware. It isnt restricted like a 32bit is with the LAA patch
I honestly have no clue about these things, I went with what sounded understandable without providing a lengthy explanation in the title :D You are most likely right and thanks for clarifying! I shall change it to something better one of these days.
Normally 32bit systems can only use 2GB of RAM because a 32bit SIGNED integer can only handle a max 2,147,483,647 bits number and because memory addresses are UNSIGNED integer's (positive numbers) and those can handle a max 4,294,967,295 bits number, that means 32bit programs, in principle, can see until 4GB of RAM, but safety is not guarantied because of the lower signed integer limit, so Microsoft and pretty much the entire industry, decided to restrict 32bit RAM access to the limit of signed integers, all because you can't guarantee the programmer will only access memory using unsigned/size_t memory pointers, if not, and you turn on /LARGEADDRESSAWARE in visual studio and try to access above 2GB of RAM the program will crash.
So using LAA in a 32bit program will certainly help make it faster but will also open the door to eventual memory access crash's.
You are right but a small correction, large address aware, permits 32bit app's to use max 4GB of RAM.
yeah that makes sense, thanks for the explanation. I normally wouldn't have touched these things if there was an official patch for the game, or any other way to make some of these mods work without butchering their quality significantly. I personally have been using the LAA patched Amnesia for over a year now without issues, so all I can do is recommend it to players as well unless this changes :)
