You are a Private in the Earth's Global Defense and you are sent to Iraq with a fleet of other marines to capture a base from an Alien attack force
During the war, you are saved and helped by a young soldier to take over the base.
Once the battle is won, you are complimented by a Captain who explains the importance of the base and scientists within. After, the base is breached by more alien troopers that you must fight off.
After the fight you leave the base by Helicopter.
In the Helicopter you and other marines witness the base and the scientists within being bombed, and you must destroy anti-aircraft forces that are attacking the helicopters.
After the fight, UFO's chase the choppers and you fight them with you own weapons.
Once that is done you reach a human base where the marines congratulate you for the effort.
Inside the new human base the Captain does a speech about your efforts and how they are not going to waste.
After the speech, an intercom goes over the entire base and alerts that the Aliens have planted a large bomb under the base and that everone must evacuate.
With only a few minutes to spare, you and the marine that saved you earlier get into a jeep and you must drive it out of the already collapsing base before it completely collapses.
As you barely make it out, your troop radio informs that you have to head past Alien armour to a large battleship that you must infiltrate and plant a bomb with your friend with you on the jeep.
Being careful not to be noticed, you sneak your way throught the ship and into the reactor. While your friend takes time to plant and arm the bomb, you have to protect him from being killed.
Once the bomb is armed, you both take a lift down to the lower levels of the ship in an attempt to get off, but on the way, you encounter a squad of stronger, smarter and faster aliens that attempt to hunt you down during your escape.
When reaching the closest you can to the bottom, you discover that the ship has taken off, andthe only way to escape is jumping. Fortunatly,

As you jump, the ship behind you explodes into small bits and all you can do is watch while falling at terminal velocity.
With a loud crunch, you and your partner land on the hard, sandy ground. While you lay there, paralyzed and losing consciousness, you hear the captain on your radio tell you that you did a good job and you need to report to a military base nearby to the one that was destroyed. Too bad that you cant make it, and all you can do is wait for death.

The battleship's destruction was a great advantage to the humans, but the war is not over. Countless marines will die defending earth, at least they now have a chance.
