Behold: Insularis Draco! An overhaul of the 2014 gem 'Invasio Barbarorum II: Conquestus Britanniae'. 30 playable factions, four (!) immensely detailed maps of North-Western Europe, covering the period of 355-700 A.D. when tribal migration, plague, climate change and all-out war spelled an end to Antiquity and a new world of 'barbarian' kingdoms rose from the ashes of Empire. The Dark Ages have descended upon the West. 'Times of great trouble and uncertainty offer substantial opportunity, but it is reserved only for those who dare to grasp it. Who will be Bretwalda and who will be Insularis Draco?' Greetings from the modding team (Urbgen, Benfras, Belovèse and PythagoreanBeans) working every day to improve I.D. for you! Replaces the in-game fonts with some more period-accurate Uncial/Carolingian Minuscule fonts (well, technically, the exact fonts reflect the script used during the centuries following the mod's timeframe, but I couldn't find any legible free fonts based on older writing styles, and the differences are minor). There's nothing wrong with the mod's default font per se, but it doesn't fit the setting at all.
Hey Elendil03! Thanks for this. It doesn't seem to be verified yet, but if I had anything to do with it I'd immediately make it available. I really wanna try it for myself!
Do these fonts support the runic-origin characters in Anglo-Saxon names, too? Like the Þ and Ð?
Yes, they do. I made sure that both fonts contain Thorn, Eth, the AE and OE ligatures, and slashed O. Enjoy!
hey, I've just tried your fonts! So can you just make any font for M2TW? Do you wanna help us make a unique yet accessible general font for the mod that we can incorporate into the main mod? Both your font pack and our own have some drawbacks, so if you could help me out we could create something that is easily readable, stylish AND fitting to the time period.
Sure! I assume you mean readability isn't that great with these fonts. Do you have a suggestion as to what font(s) to replace them with?
Creating custom fonts for Medieval II is pretty easy, you just need the TTF font files and the CUF tool: Twcenter.net(font-amp-text-rendering)-mod-tool
An instruction manual may be found here: Twcenter.net
