This will disable ammo usage of the default 9 mm Pistol (first weapon found in game). As long you have 1 or more bullets, you can fire as many times as you like your ammo will not decrease. Also the default bullets have incendiary damage added and do about 20% more damage.

That's a Revolver not a pistol...it also doesn't use 9mm ammo it uses "special" ammo that poses no risk at penetrating bulkheads.
