The Anomalous Materials incident was just a diversion, an excuse for the government take over of Black Mesa. Now that the sinister angent known only as "The Administrator" has complete control over the BM laboratories his real work has begun...

Well made, well scripted and fun as hell.

A mod no half-life fan should miss :D

One of the many projects of very talented Tylak, who kept improving with each new release. Infinite Rift may very well be the best of his HL work.

What we have here is a medium length, pretty well designed mappack. The mapping and brushwork is the definition of old-school, though it would be just called regular mapping back in the day :) The maps all have the right amount of detail in every area.

The pack starts with a nice little intro cutscene and similar, brief cutscenes show up here and there in various areas too. We have a scientist friend guiding us via text messages, which is a fun idea. Beside the usual run 'n gun we have some inventive sections such as sneaking past scientist who'll run to the alarm button as soon as they see us or an area where you need to stay in a certain spot for a time as to not lose connection, all while getting attacked by soldiers, it's good stuff. The titular "Infinite Rift" machine provides some great visuals towards the end too.

Finally, this is one of the very few mods I recommend playing on Hard difficulty. Normally I dislike the bulletspongy enemies it brings but this mappack is so easy that it would balance itself. I have been playing this for years now and never once have I died nor did I walked around with less than 70% armor.

Overall, we have a very well made, fun mappack with decent playtime. I recommend this pack to everyone who's itching for a good, old-school experience.

One of the best classic mods for HL. Black Mesa, Xen, interesting story, intensive gameplay, quality level design. Play it without doubts!

Very well made.

Thrilling scripting. Now THAT is how you do a Gonarch chase. Loved the health/HEV wall combo that gives you a chance to put those skills to the test. The age old question: is it faster to charge health and suit individually, or quickly alternate between the two like an insane person? Better choose wisely because you have maybe 3 seconds until you're engulfed in flames.

Levels are a lot of fun to play through with gameplay that keeps the action moving. Never stale.

Simple puzzles and minimal switchbacks with an emphasis on enjoying this experience.

Decent amount of ranged combat made the magnum a clear winner. Balanced enemy mix with believable placement. Encounters felt natural and congruent.

Varied environments and excellent5 pacing.

Story was kinda whatever and the final boss was a touch tedious, but Infinite Rift was overall a high quality mod that felt polished and complete.

This was a fun mod. Good direction when it came to puzzle solving. The end was quite difficult, as expected. The weapon selection was not limited, as is the case in many mods. Overall, this is a good mod if you want a fan-made Half-Life story.

Infinite rift is a fun all around half-life modification which takes you places unseen from the main game. It was fun to play through and see some stuff not used elsewhere and a mild challenge, good for when you just want something to take the edge off your day. It just left me wanting more game play time.
