Hyperion is a HL2 "Death match" mod based off of games such as Cell Factor and Unreal Tournament 3. We will be using and expanding Valve's "Source" engine to create this mod for advanced physics, amazing graphics including HDR and bloom effects, Highly detailed maps, Detailed high poly models, and more.

You will battle your way in 15+ small-medium sized, death match maps with tons of detail, traps, such as pressure rooms, destructible environments, and more. There will be a variation of levels, for example some will be in space, Egypt, industrial zones, sports stadiums, and other places. Also, you will see vehicles like futuristic Quad's that will fit into the arenas w/o ruining the game play.
For Weapons, you will see some of the classics such as high powered snipers, rocket launchers, nail guns, crossbows that shoot a variety of arrows such as fire and lighting, mini-guns, assault rifles, shotguns, flame-throwers, various pistols, mountable guns, melee weapons, and much more.
There will be a variety of characters from different species and planets that you will also see in this mod. Some characters will be aliens, humans, monsters, and funny hidden characters. Also, you will see a unique stats system in which every week/month the top player will be announced. For game types you will see Death match, Team Death match, Capture the Flag, Cooperative, and Last Man Standing.

In the final game you will see:
~ 15+ small-medium sized death match arenas with lots of detail
~ Vehicles
~ many diverse weapon sets
~ Variation of characters from different races
~ A unique stats system
~ 5 exciting styles of game play
~ And much more!!

Texture Artists
Webmaster (to make a professional website)
Musician and SFX specialist
Model Animator
GFX artist to make menus, logos, etc.

oh, and about the storyline, there really isn't one, because it's a multiplayer game, but later on Manop and I may create one that's solid enough to fit the game if needed.

The damage will be somewhat of a mix, depending on how strong the gun is, depends on how long you stay alive. If somebody shot you with a weak gun, the gun clip (probably around 8-14 shots) would have to be completely used up to kill you. Howeve, if a strong weapon, such as an assault rifle were used, you would die pretty quickly, about 5-10 shots. So yes, kinda like battlefield

Yeah, there is a story behind UT. Not a great one, but still :p

A story just makes everything seem a little bit more tight, that's all.

Also, will this be like Unreal Tournament, where you can take a truckload of damage, like Counter-Strike, where you can't, or a mix, like Battlefield?

I hope to be spending a lot of time on Cooperative, it sounds like it could be really fun, if you have some original objectives.

For game types , there's going to be Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Cooperative, and Last Man Standing.

Obviously, we all should show what DM and TDM are...

Capture the flag (for those who don't know) is a gameplay type in which there are two teams, and they both have a flag. What both teams have to do is two things, defend their flag, and capture the other teams. However, once you capture the flag, you have to run back past the middle (indicated on the map). Once a flag is captured, the game will restart, and a new round will begin. Whoever wins the most rounds, well, wins :P We are designing some more in-depth tactics besides what I mentioned above. For example, using the opposing flag as a melee weapon.

Cooperative is basically a TDM mode, with an objective. Such as, one team defending their base, and the other team has to destroy/capture it.

Last man standing is also pretty simple. Each player is given a certain amount of lives (lets say 5 as an example), and whoever loses all of their lives, will just be spectating till the round ends. The round ends when therer is only one player left alive.

and yea, there's no need for a story, in my opinion, because it's a mulitplayer mod

Could you give us an in-depth gameplay analysis? Arcadey, realistic, CTF, Deathmatch etc?

This sounds like a mish-mash of things, but yet, it might just work. It certainly feels like it.

However, I feel as if it is missing some heart to it. Is there a story behind all this? If not, well, I'd be glad to make one up for you guys ;)

camacazie638, I'm sorry to say, but for this mod, that is an awful idea. Do you see npc zombies running at you in UT? No. This is just a team based games, you got guys from the other team running at you, you got enough to watch ur back for.
