Recently, after our comeback we have been hard at work, polishing certain design elements and balance testing in multiplayer 1v1. The time has come to deliver an update to the public.
The new version contains a lot of balance adjustments, along with a few fixes. In the background, we are working on certain new ships and concepts, some of which we have already teased. This is a smaller update that mainly aims to polish multiplayer balance.
In the download you will find the .big file and an icon image within a zip folder. You will have to rename the .big file after extraction to ComplexEnhanced8.81. From here, just create a new shortcut to HW2, and add the following to the end of the target line : -mod ComplexEnhanced8.81.big -nomovies -hardwarecursor -w xxx h yyy -forceLAN -determcompplayer
-nomovies will skip the opening cinematics
-w xxx h yyy will set a custom screen resolution (replace with numbers)
forceLAN will let you enter any and every game room regardless of version
-determcompplayer will increase AI difficulty levels.

i have a small-ish prob... but after installing the mod i got no ingame fx sound ...
no thrusters ... no weapons ... no mining ... no fx ... while music and language are ... working
Could your in-game sound options be the source?
I have the same issue, it's not related to in game sound sliders.
Remove the "-overridebigfile" tag from your launch shortcut. That tag should only be used if a mod includes sound replacements for EVERY sound used in the game. At least, that's what fixed it for me in another mod.

right... shortcut, rebuild, changelog...
so WHERE exactly in our HW folder do we put the damn thing?
Put it in the data folder. Do not forget to write -mod ComplexEnhanced8.81.big in the target path (shortcut -> properties) to make it work.
I have problems .. if i start the "customized" game it crashes when it loades the world!? any suggestions?
Please note that this is an archival release meant for Homeworld 2!
two bugs for 8.81:
1 Hiigaran mothership's defens filed is infinite which means it will not shut down! will protect mothership forever
2 White flickering bug due to hgn heavy ion cannons ofen happens in later game

fine done with downloading....did the steps as its done....made the shorctcut nd gave the taget line

have installed complex 9.1, r.e.a.r.m, mass effect and homefront here they work fine....
Try to remove the version number in both the big file and the shortcut command.
in shortcut i removed the version no., didnt work.
in big file its named "Complex Enhanced.big" with a space in between complex and enhanced....
so should i add 8.81 to the big file??
any ways i will try that.
also while giving target file name in shortcut do we have to consider even the upper case lower case the spaces between the file name like in complex enhanced (with a space) n all....??
The space may be a problem as well, try getting rid of that. In the end what will matter is that the target line's .big name is identical.
Still don't know how to install this mod to a "homeworld rm 1+2 collection version", can u specify the process in "homeworld rm 1+2 collection version"?
