The Homeworld Remastered Players Patch resolves many bugs, exploits, and balance issues. It works with Gearbox's 2.1/2.303 Patches, and includes hundreds of additional improvements. It enhances singleplayer and multiplayer while respecting the look, sound, and feel of Relic's classics. Notably it fixes the 666 Formation Bug, the Cross Race Docking Bug, and is authored by the players who helped Gearbox balance Homeworld Remastered. It also features additional gameplay options including a campaign difficulty adjuster, user interface/camera adjusters, dual command mode, observer mode, vast unit caps, and much more.

This is being released by the community for the players and fans. Credits: Gearbox, Cloaked, Fear, Trebic, NoOne, Echo, Stuart, QuadS, Kadeshi, and all the other contributors, testers, and players providing feedback. Hi, does this mod fixes "Collision and ramming logics have been removed. Even the largest of ships now elastically evade any collision." ?
I don't see list of fixes of broken stuff mentioned at fandom?

Will there be an update to this, for the Epic Games release? Or should it be about the same as on GOG?

Do I have to select the Mod in the launcher every time or is there a way to persist the mod selection?

Is there any way to remove the unit build cap or better yet, change the unit cap back to the way it was in the vanilla Homeworld? Thank you!

This patch adds a vast unit cap option to multiplayer/skirmish, and adjusts the unit caps closer to the classics. However Homeworld remastered has engine limitations around unit caps; including a max of about 250 units per class, and no unit cap options for the campaigns.
