Many generations ahead our own, evolution has given another step... But this time, it's not on our side. HESK: Hyugaren is a single player T.C. for GZDoom 1.8.2, which includes a lot of new features, such as totally reworked gameplay mechanics, new graphics, new sprites, new sounds, new music, new gore system, new skybox (Hyperskybox), new liquids (Hyperwater), among many others...

I just realized I mistyped the power output as Megawatts per Hour. Relying in that screenshot will mean you have a whole nuclear powerplant in your back hahaha!

Please skip that blunder.

I really can't believe the amount of detail and work you're putting into this mod. This will totally redefine Doom mods, along with Brutal Doom.
I love what I'm seeing

Thank you a lot, CED!

Armor/health system is in fact more complex (up to 5 kinds of damage), but I decided to not use its full features to retain a simple and fast gameplay, keeping some of the original Doom feeling.

They're still available is someone wants to mod the mod afterwards.

Thanks man! It's all going quite smooth, I must say. The new monsters sprites are quite difficult to get into, but I'll eventually find the way to properly do them.

So the one on the left is a SEVA suit with an exoskeleton. Wtf is the one on the right? Leather jacket with a Clear Sky helm and an exo??
EDIT: Nevermind, i read the description.

I just wanted to make a mix of my favourites S.T.A.L.K.E.R. suits, and adjust them to the properties of the mod.

If I recall correctly, the one on the right is (aesthetically) a mix between a CS-3 + SSP-99M + Exo. Note the name, "Senka", is a nod to the character featured in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat (former bandit hanging out with Nitro at Yanov).

There are (and will be) many nods and easter eggs to videogames and films! Some hidden, some explicit.

Description

These are two of the 5 suits available.

You start off with an used "Senka" suit. Notice how degradation of your armor reduces effectivity of its stats (except for Max. AC output -Max. amount of electricity available-).

Repairing it will do just for a while, but rupture and biochemical protection will slowly degrade with wear and tear, no matter what, so you'll need to replace your armor at some point.

You also have power ups (armor amount is recovered only by repair or calibration kits), which will increase your protection for either rutpure or biochemical damage.

There are "expansion slots" too, which allows your armor to be "modified" with unique parts you'll find in certain places (4 expansion slots max). You can also upgrade your armor with higher tier parts, like better armored plates (increases rupture protection), better fabric (increases biochemical protection) or better mainframes (more AC output available).

However, once you change your armor, every powerup, expansion slot or modification will be lost.

Technically speaking, every part is a CustomInventory actor, as are special powerups and unique pickups. At the same time, every stat for every part is a CustomInventory actor, which are given or taken when said parts are given to the player. "OEM" armors are built from these parts: Mainframe, Armor plates and Fabric. Each one has its own, particular protection stat, so they're independent one from another. So, they're not a regular armor pickup, but rather a special pickup which restart every stat (taking every special hidden inventory, like parts, powerups and expansions), then only adds its own parts.

Wear and tear, along with protection and damage management are fully customized, done through both Decorate and ACS.

If anyone wants to make its own parts, OEM armors, special pickups or unique expansions upgrades, will only have to give these particular actors to the player. Of course, you can always take a look into the original code for guidance.
