A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
Alright kids time to spice up Flood Mode! The Gravemind will now make an appearance in SotP. He's a kind soul that would like to properly announce that he's sending a horde of flood in your direction! Teams will hear various lines that are catered to their civilization. Mad props to Hageshii01 for basically destroying his voice in the process. The lines have foleyed flood noises in the background for extra creepiness. Enjoy!

This is seriously scary.
As it should be.
Yep, yep this is something that I wouldn't like to hear in the dark.
**** just got real ...
I? I am a monument, to all of your sins.
I am glad that i know how to make an anti flood fleet now **** just got scary.
I wanted to hear "I am a monument to all your sins" good after effects though.
That was well done!
If I'm completely honest about this, I love the concept, but the voice seems a bit too aggressive, and there's too little bass in the voice. He sounds more like a devilish creature (a brute) than a nasty monster. Just an opinion.
So I suggest adding more bass to the voice and make it less aggressive, it sounds like a brute in some ways. Also, you could try to talk a bit slower. It might help with the "less aggressive" part.
Sounds pretty neat, however I feel like the lines are being spoken a bit too quickly and voice doesn't quite sound deep enough. One of my favorite parts in Halo 2 was just how epic the Gravemind sounded in his deep slow method of speech. It really helped to convey the fact that he can literally outlast anything and everything else and that patience is something that it has in abundance.
Something to keep in mind about the speed of voice here, you're going to hear this a lot in a game. If you're playing a large map that takes a long time you're probably going to get tired of lines like this eventually, so them being a little faster than normal helps make them less annoying because it doesn't drag on. Just my opinion.
^That was actually the point thanks bud. Its rare for UI lines to be lengthy because you hear them so often. As a compromise the Gravemind doesn't take a billion years to get his point across.
A lot of our decisions seem to be off the wall for the common fan because they're not thinking about this from a game-dev perspective. The gravemind talking slow in a handful of cutscenes you probably experienced over the course of a few days isn't that bad. Old Boy taking time to spit his lines for the 20th time in your 10 hour long game today is probably going to get old fast.
once every half hour doesn't seem that bad
I don't know, it is good but doesn't really give me that gravemind effect in my head. For example the soundtracks they just give me the "Halo" Chills but some how the VO doesn't. No disrespect to the original voice actor and Sancho for editing it, but just giving my opinion
It doesn't sound like a Gravemind to me. The echo needs to be lost.
"This is not your grave, but you are welcome in it". :)
Excellent quality imo.
This is just wrong. The Gravemind talks in a particular fashion called Trochaic Heptameter, an advanced form of speech that humans can’t understand, but it’s either in English or the onboard translator in Spartan gear.
