In the Nvidia control panel (or ATi Catalyst) you have different types of settings for individual optimization of your GFX. You can change the Filtering, the minimap, antialiasing,.... Increasing these settings to max will lead to a better look of the overll GFX rendered software in this case Homworld 2.

-->Simple: MOAR EYECANDY!!!!! OMNOMNOM!

how can it surpass the games settings though? i have an nvidia GTX 560 so im sure it could easily do all these things so thats pretty cool, didnt think it overrides the game though.

I probably wouldnt want it with low texture units/mods though itd make it look more ugly lol.

Your graphics card has to process the 3D graphics, while it does that, it can process them with AA and such it's self. I'm pretty sure any nvidia card can use the control panel.

It won't look as good as if the vanilla game had it's own AA, but it looks alot better than a completely AA-free game.

No idea. Check their website/your computer if there's some sort of control panel application or card settings.

Well, the nvidia one has a tab for managing 3d effects. Within this it lets you choose individual programs and has settings from anisotropic filtering to anti-aliasing. I'm not sure what the AMD equivelant is like.

It has a 3D menu just like nVidia, in the Catalyst control panel.

If you've downloaded up to date drivers it should have installed the control panel. In your task bar icon tray there'll be an "nvidia settings" icon, right click it and open the control panel, from there go to manage 3D effects > program settings, add Homeworld 2 to the list if it isn't there. From there turn up Anisotropic filtering, antialiasing - gamma, put the mode on override application setting, set it to whatever your card can comfortably handle, mine's all the way on 32x. The other settings have descriptions on, mess with them as you will.

What differences are you looking for? Anti-aliasing only affects the jagged, pixelated edges in games and blurs them so they look more smooth, it won't automatically make a game look amazing.

Description

Was playing around with my Nvidia card's control panel and put pretty much everything to full as possible. It's pretty.

Apologies if the mouse or UI spoils some of them.
