those.. are some big guns..
600RPM is a surprisingly low RoF though. when i first saw them i was expecting something like 2000-1500.

well shooting high caliber rounds at high RoF at low armored targets does seem like a waste of ammo.

What do you mean?

I don't see how something can be 'too tactical'.

Well.. it seems that the modders seemed to decide to take a few liberties with the cyclops of halo wars. Youtube.com

it is just a combat version of the standard cyclops that will also be in the game.

Ugh..noooo, why would you do this? The worst thing to come out of Halo Wars. The mantis is more tolerable at least.

I've examined the picture thoroughly, and I admire the time and effort the modeller put into this. The UNSC arsenal is surprisingly conventional for a series taking place 500 years into the future. This was intentional, a deliberate point in the design of Halo: that weapons and vehicles of the UNSC mimic a modern arsenal. Bungie wanted them to feel like humanity as we know it. Jeeps, tanks, dropships, fighters, automatic rifles, burst rifles, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, shotguns, etc. Sure there were a few departures from this at one time or another. The spartan laser for example: a futuristic weapon that fills the familiar role of anti vehicle. A mech has no combat role that couldn't be better filled with another existing vehicle. It is an outlandish concept that exists for no other purpose than to look cool. I have nothing against mechs, but they are out of place in the UNSC and do not belong in Halo. If you disagree you're welcome to make your point, but don't respond to criticism by calling me dumb and saying it's awesome.

Mechs are just up scaled combat armor that need very little training above a regular soldier.

No, they're not 'Upscaled combat armor', and they're not going to need 'very little training'.

Think about it. If you are 20 feet taller and weigh 5 tons more, is your balance going to be the same? And good luck walking on the same ground that conventional vehicles can cross.

I can't praise this mod nearly enough. The buildings, textures, and vehicles have all been excellent, but this is the one exception.

DaViperDragon is right. If you read the first halo book, they mention, the cyclops armor was suppose to be a new standard power armor. But it needed massive power and was a bit clumsy to use. Than the spartan project side railed it before it was ever modified for combat since the Mjolnir Power Armor was far superior, but required special training and augmentation.

But the cyclops power armor was even mentioned as being used to train the Spartans after they where augmented. So it would be too far of a stretch for as the war got longer and the UNSC tech progressed that they would of solved the power and movement issues and revisit the idea of using the cyclops for combat. at least before they learned to mass produce Spartans that is. Because before that is was used for heavy lifting, construction, and field repair work.

Personally like the idea of the combat cyclops, just hope they don't op it or change it to not fit with typical UNSC design and making unbalanced.

Those would be bigger bullet rounds coming from those gatling guns & sure it would shred any tanks to pieces! Multi Missiles could do a lot of damage too. This bot is a Beast!

First of all to all who commented poorly on this THIS MOD IS MADE BY THE MODDERS NOT YOU they can put what they want in this. this is coming from a fellow modder i personally think they need this cause the regular cyclops made no sense especially when forge got them and he tech all his stuff out IE Grizzly and no one complained about a double barrel tank. Nice job to your modeler and keep it ITs Your mod NOt the communities YOU are making it and for the Community DONT Like it to bad go play halo wars or a different halo mod then and stop bitching its hard enough to keep a mod team working and together and to have people bitch makes it worse so Shut the **** up and sit down and just enjoy it.

Criticism is important for all artistic, professional, and recreational works. While it is essential that we show modders our appreciation and support through positive feedback, criticism is constructive and grants them a new perspective from their fan base. Should they choose to consider it, these opinions (if reasonable and educated, not impolite or insulting) can help them improve their work. If I didn't support this mod I wouldn't care to give an opinion. Giving negative feedback for a particular item in no way implies that I don't like the mod. I point out issues about my country all the time, but moving is not the next logical option. If the developers didn't give a **** about the fanbase then this mod would not be on moddb. Your comments would be equally as unimportant. Of course it is their mod. I'm not telling them what to do, simply offering my opinion, and I will continue to supply my honest opinion for a mod I follow and support. It's up to them if they want to consider it or not.

I should ALSO mention that typing with CAPS LOCK ON does NOT add any substance to your post. It ACTUALLY just makes you look like a ******** who CAN'T MAKE A POINT WITHOUT IT.
