No. Units in the mod are not all repeats of each other. variations will appear withing squads... Ex, some elites have plasma rifles, some have carbines. Some grunts have plasma pistols, some have needlers, etc.
An upgrade system like the one in company of heroes or Dawn of War would not be possible in this game. The alternative is an upgrade system that upgrades ALL units of a type with the specified weapon...which would be dumb. All Elites with carbines? Not so cool.
Contact other modders for this game, maybe they might know a thing or two. or even COH. ask them how they set it up, then you make it with a help. Or that might take a long time.
Not to contradict you, but you can make it so the specified unit changes. IE the unit changes from an elite to an elite with a carbine, two different unit codings. I'm sure i saw that in some mod.
Each unit, indigenous or otherwise, will be exactly as powerful as it should be...so honor guards will be actually more powerful that most other infantry. They will only spawn in very small squads, however.
I think some aspects of this model could stand to be improved a bit, but its still impressive. Personally i like this honor gaurd model better. Halo.wikia.com

that will be awesome, maybe for that, if a covenant supercarrier or another major covenant ship was over a planet when you attack the planet, an honor guard from the ship could be the commander on surface, kinda like how if an acclamator is over a planet, it can launch tie bombers
They follow arby from H2 & 3 but the mod is set before he's arbiter...so he'll actually be a fleet commander hero. Im thinking the arbiter i want for the mod is more...arrogant. Not the sagging-mandibled slobbering beast from halo wars but just an elite who just knows that hes the best around...and doesnt feel a need for stealth.
It is a title and a mark of honor...only the best and most skilled elites are chosen...which doesmt always mean they are moraly or socially perfect. If you remember, the H2 arbiter was made an arbiter to spare his life...not shame him...he had already been shamed.
the arbiter was an elite chosen to do the prophets biding. it was a symbol of honor. which is why all the other elites treat the halo 2 arbiter like dirt and why the halo wars arbiter commanded some spear elites that dont like spartans (dislike for spartans not proven :P )
I'm so glad you did this Elite variant, it's one of my favourite elite armour designs. The only thing I personally think could be changed is the helmet so that it looks less like the default elite and more like the helmet seen in Halo 2.

Prophets will not be included as ground units.
so if the prophets isn,t going to be in the mod will high ranking Elites like fleet commanders or Elite generals and the arbiter be in the mod.
Yep. Prophets will also be in the mod, but only as space heroes.

Is that a gunner grunt? my second favourite grunt, the spec ops grunts in halo 1 is the best.
Better then halo 2 ones cause armour is more shiny in Halo 1.

Some do but they are pretty much just ceremonial weapons. Most of the time they use swords or plasma rifles.

Spec op elites should be the arbiters body guards since they accompany him in most missions.
