Some of you in the mod community remember the original one-map Half-Life Halloween mod I created in 2001, and even more of you have played the 2002 version I also made for Half-Life. The Halloween 2005 mod will take elements of the 2002 version and use the capabilities of the source engine to make an extended Halloween themed single-player HL2 mod with an new, indepth and original storyline taking the player from his suburban neighborhood to do battle with the evils of Halloween Land, and ultimately, the Grim Reaper. The style of game-play will be similar to that of GTA in that you are given tasks by characters to complete in other maps and return after completion to gain money, items, or to simply progress along the storyline.
Pumpkin Night is a singleplayer mod, for Half-life 2, to be released in October 2005. It is not a short version of "Halloween HL2: The Traveler" but a small mod showing a glimpse of the Halloween HL2 story from a different perspective. It starts in a similar fashion, a young boy on Halloween night Decides to take a detour into an old farmhouse after an evening of Trick-or-Treating. He stumbles upon the Ostium Mortis, an ancient book. But the prophecy of the traveler was only partially fulfilled, and the false traveler must be punished for his discovery.
this is actually a pretty cool game, although it sounds much like a disaster its slightly flawed although it maintains the graphical quality of Source engine and yet the storyline is bland but if you have finished half life 2 on hard like me, little mods like this really extend the re-playablility.
Nice job
best halloween mod nobody will say its not :D
I'm stuck on the part in the house. I got the spraypaint. Where do i go from there?
I found an error when initializing the game:
"Can't find background image 'materials/console/background01_widescreen.vtf'"
The game just closes =(
It's the Steam Pipe Updates. It screws up the formats for all source mods. Most of them have fixes now but some mods don't. I'll try and figure out a manual fix. I'm not sure there's one for this mod on the internet but I imagine if I experiment, it should be fine.
kewl
