This mod is a Tribute to Hammy, Jaykin bacon, Various Video Games and the fact that you can make a mod fun without super-serious modern warfare guns or zombies. Half-Screwed is a Half-life Modification where the tense serious multiplayer action is blown away with weird weapons and other great wonderful things. Instead of a handgun and dangerous explosives, you can throw dosh at your opponents. Or have your first Tripmine with Fisher Price's TripMine all set up and ready to use.
Hello everyone. Here's the final version of Half-Screwed. The game that made you cry and laugh. This project which is about peaking over 3 years of off-and-on coding is finally done.
This version doesn't focus on adding more content to, but more-so fixing any issues I've seen and adding in a few things I wanted to add since starting the project.
Enough jibber jabber, its time for changes and downloads.

What do you call this single player game exactly? It is not a total conversion as you still have the same basic game, but you added different player models and new conversations. I am looking for more games like this, but in a much more serious manner. This was a great game though. I had lots of fun! ^_^
For this you need half life buyed on steam. or else you will not be able to play single player
Does anyone know if this works on a non steam version of half-life?
No. it does not. if you use non steam. you will not be able to load/play single player
I have to say this was a real treat to play when there were friendly NPCs around and they were having their own conversations. The dinosaur, headcrab and stormtrooper heads were a real nice touch. The enemy sounds were refreshing and the new weapons usually overpowering in a good way. I am still not sure what the money was for except to distract possibly for a second or the one rifle that looked like an M16 of sorts that just seems to shake the screen violently or even the Jason thing. I am sure that was a gag, but for or from what I have no idea.
However because you did not actually add any real new content or extra NPCs along the way, some parts, especially the middle were rather boring as I find the original to be. Not so much your fault, as either the original game design or my own taste. But it gave me motivation to get past those parts again to see what else would be said. There are just not more scientist and security guards the later you go into the game.
It sucks there are no servers up. I think it said there were bots with their own conversations, but I am not sure how to get them to appear. Otherwise I am just running around in circles. I also find the weapons not found in the base game to be a nice addition too, at least on the surface. With no one to try them out on I can just say they look nice.
I would like to say however that not actually having any elevator music, regardless of how campy it might of been, was a real missed opportunity. Also what was the music at the title screen? I have tried to find it elsewhere to listen to but can not. Have you guys worked on any other mods for HL1 or HL2 and have you done a Half Screwed for HL2? I will be writing a review shortly for this one.
I just wanted to thank you for this unforgettable mod, i beat this before i beat vanilla half-life. Thank you so much
Your kind words mean a lot :)
Hello I have a problem with the mod. I am able to switch the game to half screwed but after 10 seconds in the main menu the gam just crashes.
Can it be because of windows 10? Or can it be because my half life is a pirated copy?
Hey ash_link, I like this mod very much. The way that you like Nintendo stuff very much, the way the scientists and guards (or barneys if you will) swear at you.
I want you to know that I'm a big fan of your mod. So please, can you fix one bug where you were unable to switch to the dolphin gun and the scientist launcher after you equipped each and one of the 2 said weapons and then switch to another weapon, therefore making those 2 weapons unusable after that, and much much more?
Please do it for the sake of your mod's fans.
Thanks.

Late message. But, can you describe the exact bug? Thank you.
Well, sorry for the late reply but when you use the scientist launcher and then switch to the other weapon, you can't switch back to the scientist launcher anymore. Sames goes for the dolphin gun.
I couldn't even edit my comments after a few minutes, so I couldn't fix the confusing bug statement in my main comment.
