Half-Life: Guard Duty is a love letter to Half-Life: Blue Shift dedicated to re-imagining the game in the art-style featured in Half-Life builds from early to mid 1998. Our goal is to integrate into the expansion various elements cut from HL1 and restore content cut from the expansion itself while also staying true to Gearbox's vision for the expansion.
For Guard Duty, we made a lot of improvements to the beta human grunt.
We fixed broken UVs, added new miscellaneous details, and replaced almost every texture with their highest resolution versions (special thanks to the FREEZE! team for providing Shaft's repo from which we use some of these textures).
Also, Even though it was not in the pre-release version of the game, dark skin variation of Hgrunt will be present in the mod. We even made custom dark textures for his unused Blownup head.
By the way, Guard Duty now has an official discord server. There you can see us posting a lot of behind the scenes stuff that never make it to ModDB. Feel free to join Discord.gg

But why? Guard Duty didn't have the pre-release grunts, so why here? I like what you've done with them but I don't know if I understand the point.
This mod recreates Blue Shift in Half-Life's beta style. That's why pre-release grunts are here.
It's great to get negative karma when I'm asking a legitimate question, but ModDB is ModDB. Anyway, thanks for clarifying I guess, but I'm still not sure of the point of merging the two styles. Just for fun?
Nice!
I like the cripsy look of the textures!
