Half=Life: Battle Royale is a mod I am making for the game Half-Life, developed in the GoldSrc engine. This mod began development on 5/3/2019 and has been worked on since.

Gameplay:

Players will spawn somewhere random on the map. When the game starts, there is a 30 second timer for players to join. Anyone who joins after these 30 seconds will be immediately killed. Players must find weapons to kill and eliminate each other. There can only be one winner.

Custom content:

New features that have been added is the new winning system. There is also a new weapon, medkit, it allows you to heal yourself on the go. A few other features are planned as well, but that's for a later article.

I will be looking for stress testers soon, so be on the look-out for that.

Depending on how big this mod gets, I will make a Source engine remake of this mod. And the Goldsrc version will go open-source.

Half Life Battle Royale? Seems for me impossible. Because Battle Royale needs a very big map. And i dont think that Gold Source gonna handle this. But i wish a luck for you. I hope you gonna do this!

We're using a trick similar to what the CS:GO battle royale fan map used. It split the map into 4 sections that were stored vertically. Then the player would walk between these dust clouds that would seamlessly transport the player between these vertical slices. The transition on ours isn't perfect, but it's the best we got with the Gold Source engine.

I may have forgotten to mention, but I do not plan on having up to 100 players per round. I don't even think the GoldSrc engine could handle that many clients at a time.

This is a pretty interesting idea! Have you seen lms_bath or Pubg maps for Sven Coop? Would you add a danger zone (forcing the players to move to the center of the map) or transport? Will you keep the default textures or make new ones?

If you're asking about bot support, unfortunately not. I don't think it's possible to add bot support to gold source games without intense modding. And even then, I don't really specialize in AI design.

No idea. Programming and mapping takes a while, especially when it's only 2 people working on it.
