The mod began work in March 2023 with the team forming as the project's momentum grew in early April. Within just 8 months of the mod starting to now, we have hit tens of thousands of players with a major milestone of downloads coming up that we cannot wait to announce. This is a monuental milestone, and we are so happy to have made Half-Life Alyx more accessible to the fans around the globe finally experiencing this adventure for the first time.
Our mod is truly one of a kind, with many teams out there turning flatscreen games into virtual reality experiences, our team is one of few out there trying to take a virtual reality experience and bring it to the flatscreen. This has been no easy task due to the lack of an SDK for Source 2, but we continue to work hard and promise you that will not stop us from making Half-Life Alyx NoVR the best it can be!

Mod Updates - Pocket's are Back, Launcher Fixes and More!
We have continued to update and add new features to the mod since our last update, this includes:
- Updated launcher fixing some previous errors
- Alyx's pockets added (softlocks fixed)
- Updated gun sway and movement
- Updates to Combine Fabricators so weapons do not get stuck in them
- Added one more achivement that can be earned
- And more!
We will be showing off some of these updates in the article and the others you will have to check out yourself and give us feedback on!

Soon another update will be pushed that will allow grenades to be stored in the pockets, with a much easier method to use them in the middle of combat to toss one towards the enemy. This video below showcases how the grenades will be stored and used:

We are also currently undergoing heavy testing of all weapon upgrades, which we showcase and detail in the next section.
Playtesters Needed Join the Community!
If you haven't yet joined our Discord do so now! Voters will also receive a unique role on our server for doing so! It is also the easiest way to get support for the mod if you run into bugs or installation issues and allows you to get more involved and help with early playtests for upcoming updates.
We are looking to get more playtesters to try out the more experimental branches that are too risky to push right away, for example the current branch that has all the weapon upgrades.

We are working hard on getting these upgrades functional, bug free and pushed to everyone in the coming weeks. Animations for them will not be ready yet, but their functionality will be there. As always we build upon everything and do it with the feedback we get from you.

Will the next update also include better support for custom campaigns? Cause the other day I tried to play Levitation only to be sent back to the menu when I tried to load the first chapter.
I have some issues with the newer versions of the launcher: The Dec. 18th update did have some issues with previous versions and wouldn't start at first only after i removed some of the old Non-VR-files out of the game directory. Unfortunately, that game's menus didn't show up at all - the main screen kept blank except for the background.
The newest version of Dec. 27 does start and it shows a basic button styled layout in the main menu, but the sub menus seem to be broken. The video options are strewn across the screen, the quit button doesn't work, the load and addon menus are empty.
The game itself runs on native screen resolution and start parameters.
