How to use the 720p weapon rips:

If you want to play with super res sprites (720p), then take the hires sprites (360p) away from the customfiles folder, as both super res and high res files might possibly conflict with each other..

As long as only one of those files are inside customfiles, it should work. However, if you downloaded this patch, they it would be suggested that you keep the super res (720p) inside the customfiles folder. Otherwise it would load the 360p sprites (or the 200p ones, if none are inside said folder.)

In a nutshell: Put either 720p or 360p (super res or high res) inside customfiles, not both.
