As the year comes to a close, The Coalition Development team continues to work hard on this mod! As a Christmas Present, we decided to show off some news! Merry Christmas!
Deep beneath City 96's streets dwells the rouge Conscript, Ahmed. Originally sent with the same mission as you, to secure The Combine super weapon designated as The Daughter. However, The Daughter's corrupting aura proved too much for Ahmed's mind, and he was driven insane. He turned against his teammates, hunting down and killing each and every last one, before converting The Nursery facility into his "sanctuary" free from The Combine's influence. He's plagued with horrific, ethereal visions of immaterial plains, layered sections of existence, and other impossible to describe truths of the universe blasted into his mind. Because of this new-found omnipotence, he no longer required the use of his eyes. They have turned a milky white, the lenses clouded and retinas fried. But what good are two flesh eyes when your third eye has been opened?
You and Cal's hunt for The Daughter has lead you to The Nursery. As agents of The Combine's will, you are disturbing the peace of Ahmed's sanctuary, and he will not take kindly to this transgression. With a shotgun in his hand, and an army of Manhacks at his command, he intends to dispatch of these Combine intruders quickly and efficiently. He knows you're here to take The Daughter, the source of his enlightenment, and he will not let that happen.
With all the weapon overhauls in Coalition, completely changing the function and appearance of the arsenal at your disposal, it sure would be great to have a nice, cosy place to chill out and test all those weapons, right? Well, lucky for you, thats just what we're working on!
The Combine have reserved this warehouse for the purposes of weapons testing and recreational use of firearms. Combine Conscripts often enjoy spending the little spare time they have relaxing at The Shooting Range or having a drink with their friends. In a life full of dangerous work that they are forced to do, yearning for the family back home, The Warehouse is one of the few sources of respite in their miserable, short lives. 
We've taken a look at the city apartments a few times before, but there's been even more progress on That Chapter!
On the roof of an apartment stands The Protagonist, torn away from his wife back home and forcibly sent to fight in a far-off land, where the memories of his old life are but a painful, echoing memory. The mission of his squad is to locate a Super Weapon, The Daughter, and the first step in that long journey is descending this building, floor by floor, and hopefully his unit will regroup with the other Combine forces assigned the same mission along the way. He had better get a move on if he ever wants to see his wife again.
New Healing Items!
The Conscripts, short on actual medical supplies, must scavenge for improvised medical provisions if they want to survive. Cough Medication is especially common, and it packs a hefty kick should one individual take enough of it. The Dextromethorphan (DXM) contained within the medication mimics PCP at high enough doses, which comes in handy when you need to walk a gunshot or two off.
The medical kit is a cherished but rare piece of equipment amongst Conscript soldiers. They are much more effective at providing relief from severe injuries when compared to improvised medical supplies such as Cough Medication. But their rarity means that they are often not available when they are needed most.
Updated C.P.M.C Model!
South Africa is a country known for its long and bloody history. The Capitalist Private Military Contractors are a holdover from Pre-Combine times, when an oppressive system of racial segregation gripped the country. Now that The Combine have seized power, the systemic shackles of old have been replaced with new ones, and The Afrikaners who once exerted ultimate will over South Africa are not spared from this.
But out of the ashes of Apartheid Era South Africa emerged a band of veteran mercenaries, The C.P.M.C, who vowed to repel The Combine's rule and restore the old regime.
The C.P.M.C have received an updated faction model, adding in knee pads and elbow pads!
That wraps up our Christmas news update! Its felt like a very short year, but we've gotten so much work done in that time. We wish you a Merry Christmas and are excited for what awaits Coalition is 2024!
