GoldenEye: Source is a Multiplayer only total conversion modification of Half-Life 2. It is a fan made recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64, a lot of things have changed since they first designed that game, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. We are here to take the game even further but at the same time provide a lot of those fun elements that hardcore GE64 fans will enjoy. I downloaded the file...but the file type is a 0_PRELOAD_FULL[1] File. And not as an .exe, whats this about? I've had this happen a lot when I download files from here.
You're using Internet explorer, i presume? get annother browser.
on the other hand, rename it to .exe again and it will work.

Yep, as mentioned on their faq it can't work on mac because it's developed on SDK 2007, where as mac only has newer source SDKs which are tough to port to or have incompatibilities with what they've coded etc

I downloaded it and it had a malware file on it. WTF man.
MalwareBytes and Avast come up clean, could be a false flag. Though this file doesn't work for me, I'll try the full installer thats out now.

Downloaded the file, but when I try to open to install it says "windows cannot open this file." "Please select a program to open this file." Any thoughts on this?
I got the same issue bro, I have SDK 07 and Steam downloaded but it's only a file on my desktop so I figured if I saved it to my Steam folder it would open but no one has been replying or helping out, Community is pretty bad right now as far as assistance, No one is even specific on how to do it step by step. Everyone just says here's the download bye
The file you download should be called: GoldenEye_Source_v5.0_preload_full.exe....is this what you have?

I dowoaded Steam, installed source sdk based 2007 then downloaded the actual preload file from modd. The preload file is sitting in my windows download file. when I open the file it takes me to my windows media player. How do I play the game after I've downloaded both files? do I drag the preload file into steam? im confused.
It works good...can anyone help me with getting my xbox 360 controller to work with this??
If there are no controls with in the game to do it you could purchase Xpadder for a few pennies and then you could play any game you want with your controller. Very neat little program.
