Basic installation instructions for the Game of Thrones Submod for Westeros: Total War.
Posted by Inarus on - Basic Installers
this is good and all, but how do i start the game? where is the launcher?
Go to where the file was installed, typically: C:\Program Files (x84)\SEGA\Medieval 2 Total War\mods\Westeros
And create a shortcut to the .bat file you find there, move the shortcut to your desktop or wherever.
No bat file, you didn't install it properly.
thanks mate, but if i get the westeros enhanced do i put the two other files in the youngbloods folder?
By "two other files" I presume you mean the installers? If so, yes :) Good luck.
hi!, i download first the youngblood, then i install the artmod 2.1 (step: 2(game of thrones part 1) in the youngblood folder), then the same thing with the game of thrones enhanced (step 3) in the youngblood folder. how do i star to play? or do i do something wrong, by the way thanks for this mod, and sorry for my bad english
i down loaded all the files through the installers all 3 of them where do i place them and how?
This guide is outdated, see the one on this mod's page on Total War Center :)
thanks
so i have steam and i have no idea how to work this do i place it in mods?
I believe it should be in \Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\
Note that I wrote this from memory and guesswork as though I have steam, I don't have Medieval 2 on it, so browse manually and you should find it. Hope it works!
sorry to be a pain but do i just make a new folder in that area?
ok i found it you have to sacrifice one of the game modes
1. Install as directed
2. Browse to C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Medieval II Total War\mods
3. Rename one of the Kingdoms campaign folders (Americas, Brittania, Crusades, Teutonic) to something else
4. Rename the Westeros folder to the name you changed in step 3
5. Select the name you used from the Launcher
if you rename youngbloods to americas, brittania etc then it works
i did my best but the mod beat me i was really looking foreword to playing but the down load just didnt go well for me
Damn, sorry, there's also some mega links on Total War Center: Twcenter.net
any chance of a one file mod or some thing or will that not launch correctly
also i want to try again how dose one wipe all the files just delete the hole game then purge a files?

So I downloaded the non enhanced version of this mod. I really enjoyed it so I decided to download the enhanced version but, I hit a brick wall with what files goes in which folder I think. I can get it to start up sometimes with where I put the files but, I honestly have no idea what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Can this mod work for Steam? I installed the file to steamapps/common/MTWII/mods
and when I run the youngbloods or vanilla versions the game runs perfectly. When I try to now run this mod after "installing over the vanilla version" as the instructions say. I get into the game, can see the menu, I click campaign select a faction and the game shuts down?
Is anyone else having this issue?
I just downloaded westeros 0.53 but this issnt vanilla right? enhanced is also a differt download, so this mod doesn't work on 0.53, but on submods of 0.53 ?! im confused....
Westeros 0.53 is Vanilla, Vanilla meaning unedited.
GoT also works on Young Bloods, an edit of Enhanced. Best to use that.

There's no voices when i play its completely silent. What do I do?
I installed both of them but all it comes up with is something called Configuration.cfg and Icon and Westeros.cfg, what do I do?
Is there a special version for youngbloods? When I run youngbloods.bat it looks like only part one is installed (although part two for enhanced was installed as well...)

I installed everything but I'm unable to launch the mod. I'm using Steam for Medieval, if that has anything to do with the issue?
It says, when I launch it that 'windows cannot find "kingdoms.exe"
Is this mod onli or I must download other things

Can I get a quick explanation on how to start the new version
It has been pointed out that these instructions are outdated. For STEAM users, please follow this video guide and let me know int he comments if you run into any trouble.
Here is the easiest way to install it for disk and Steam:
1. unzip the downloaded RAR file - directly into the Medieval 2 Total War\mods directory if you are comfortable with the procedure
2. If you have unzipped the RAR file somewhere else then cut\paste the GoT_enhanced folder into the Medieval 2 Total War\mods directory
3. Download and install this starter: Twcenter.net
4. Start the game by using the new desktop shortcut. More details about the Starter in the link.
Recommendation: follow this tutorial - Twcenter.net (crashes and freezes)
