Since the 2020 Retail launch the 2011 release was renamed to: G STRING - BETA and in the future the G STRING - ULTIMATE EDITION is coming. Also don't be confused about the "Developer: LunchHouse Software" part. This is the G String Beta you are looking for, the one made by Eyaura. The display was changed because LunchHouse helped me a lot in publishing the game and this will help us both in promoting our work. Which reminds me: they're making PUNT! Go check it out! Since there is no way to list this on MODDB like on Steam (Developer: Eyaura, Publisher: LunchHouse Software) this is the best solution. Thanks and have fun!

Description

They call this crunch time I guess.

Still implementing the feedback. Not adding new major areas or set pieces anymore. Just polishing what's there, some side areas are added only, a bit of extra pickups here and there.

The main focus is brightness and color now.

Trying to make it more interesting to look at without ruining the atmosphere. A bit more contrast, color and light. Also making sure it looks good without the new FX (hence they are disabled in this shot) as some will prefer the crisper look or will just play it on older machines.

Also decided to "max out" Source meaning a minimum of 20,000 brush entities and 2,000 point entities per map. (not all dynamic entities of course as that will lead to crashes.) I find these numbers in Hammer are the sweet spot. Anything above may cause problems and anything below is well under-utilizing.

In game the entity limit rarely exceeded 1700-ish but sometimes it went higher so had to address that. Replaced dynamic props and info_targets with static props and solved it.

I hope it's good now though and it is stable even in more intense maps.
