After seceding from the Vaygr, Taiidan scientists have been constantly hard-pressed. Shortly after recommencing their Capital Ship development program it became painfully clear that the traditional Qwaar-Jet Heavy Cruisers, while still usable, simply do not match up against the performance of their modern day counterparts. A new type of warship was needed if the Empire was to stand on its own again in this era.
In time, the answer was found in the Battleship. The Empire recently launched its first few prototypes of this next-gen ultra-Heavy Cruiser. It has only been spotted at a few battlefields thus far, but those that saw it and lived to tell the tale claim that if the old Qwaar-Jet types are a 'Battlecruiser-', the new generation Battleships are undoubtedly a 'Battlecruiser+'.

Small typo in the description... Battlecruiser and then Battlecruiser again ? :) The Quar Jet was a Cruiser. :)
That passage is to give an indication of where the Battleship stands in terms of firepower. If the Qwaar-Jet falls short of the HGN/VGR equivalents and is a Battlecruiser minus (-), the Battleship stands above them as a Battlecruiser plus (+).
