Field Intensity version 1.6. Extract the archive into your Half-Life folder, restart Steam, search for Half-Life: Field Intensity in your Library, start and enjoy!
Our main supported platform is Steam release of Half-Life (Windows and Linux. macOS is not supported).
Secondary supported engines: Xash3D-FWGS (Windows and Linux. Android is not supported yet).
If you report bugs or crashes, please specify your operating system and the engine that you played on.
Note: If you have some old version of the mod installed, it's advised to remove the mod directory (field_intensity) before installing the new version, so the HD resources from the previous version won't mix up with the classic ones. You can backup field_intensity/config.cfg before doing so, in order to preserve your custom settings and later put it in the new installed directory.
I'm playing it again and I must say I'm very impressed.
You've all done a good job not only extending the levels, but adding new elements while also fixing some of the imperfections you mentioned.
I congratulate all of you.
спасибо!
Too many updates (don't worry, please, continue)!
I'm super excited to play again! But just as a question. Are there new voicelines or is every voiceline kept the same and all?
No, voice lines are the same
No patch notes?
Changelog is available in the news. Today we only edited menu background and some fonts fixes.
if there were no ropes in mod we could unlock the fps permanantly :(
also, what's new? big or small update? propably optimized for the 25th anniversary as well :)
It has the engine fixes of the 25th anniversary update, so you can unlock the framerate and it will still work. I have a 240hz monitor, and I had no problems.
I know, but the ropes still go stiff above like 140 or 142 FPS
Huh, we should test it again then
nvm I was wrong. I replayed and found that the ropes stay active, even at 240 hertz^^ I wish valve would finally give that kind of attention to the HL1 expansions. or to Hl1 itself lol
The mouse movement doesn't feel as raw and natural as Half-Life after the 25th anniversary update. I can switch between the two games and feel the difference quite clearly.
Also, there's numerous places during the mod where I got lost. Like after I cleared out the dormitories early on and my objective changed to “Leave the dormitories”, I wandered around in circles for half an hour. The objectives aren't always specific enough.
And could we get a list of what the weapons are referred to in the console? For binding purposes?
And do you want me to clean up the English in the mod for you?
Regarding mouse issues: have you tried adding -noforcemaccel to the mod launch options? (you can do it on Steam) Does it fix the issue for you?
The English translation has been checked by two people already. Can you give us example of what is wrong with it?
I haven't tried -noforcemaccel. I'll check it out today.
I didn't take notes of the examples of off-sounding English while I was playing through. Most of them were just weird little things said by your team, which would require more voice acting, so probably won't get done anyway.
Like for example, the guy torches open the door for you, and says something like, “I'll guard this area, you go there.”
A native speaker would never say “you go there” when referring to a door they've just opened. They'd say “you go in”. It's mostly stuff like that.
Or when it's HUD text or subtitles, it's usually just a missing punctuation mark or something.
-EDIT-
I tried that launch option. No difference. I'm almost certain that it was already enabled.
Here I've made a YouTube video demonstrating how Field Intensity can't be using raw input. Read the video description to understand what's going on.
Thanks for the video. I'll try to reproduce it.
What operating system is it?
Windows 11.
I forgot to list the weapons
weapon_crowbar
weapon_9mmhandgun
weapon_357
weapon_9mmAR
weapon_shotgun
weapon_rpg
weapon_gauss
weapon_crossbow
weapon_egon
weapon_tripmine
weapon_satchel
weapon_handgrenade
weapon_snark
weapon_hornetgun
weapon_eagle
weapon_penguin (this is for alternative snark)
weapon_pipewrench
weapon_knife
weapon_grapple
weapon_shockrifle
weapon_m249
weapon_sniperrifle
weapon_displacer
weapon_sporelauncher
weapon_medkit
Thanks.
By the way, I found out what the problem is:
The game is secretly enabling “Enhance Pointer Precision”.
Here's another video.
Make sure to read the description again:
I've managed to replicate it.
If I add -noforcemparms -noforcemspd (it's not the same as -noforcemaccel I mentioned earlier) to the launch parameters, the mouse setting won't change while in game.
The same happens in Half-Life for me, btw, not only in the mod.
You can find open issues regarding this problem on Valve's halflife github.
I haven't tried those parameters yet,
but the new .dll fixed the problem for me.
Thanks, and good job.
One of the best mod of Half-Life, everybody must play. I congratulate all of you and many thanks.

Hello I would like to know if you have the possibility to port this mod to Android (xash3D)
Can i transfer my Saves to the new version?

Hi. I know you probably won't see this, but is there any way you could share some of the source code for Field Intensity? I'm trying to make a similar objectives/inventory GUI but I'm inexperienced in C++ and the Half-Life SDK has very sparse documentation.
